SLC30-W5 | 24 Hours Travel Reporter : Delicious Food Zone
Warm greetings from me, @fajrularifst, to all food-loving Steemians wherever you may be. On this occasion, I’m delighted to introduce one of the Delicious Food Zones in my area, a spot you definitely shouldn’t miss.
The Delicious Food Zone I’d like to highlight is an ice cream café called Fountain. It’s located inside a large, modern shopping center called Suzuya Mall. Situated next to the back entrance of Suzuya Mall, directly facing the parking lot, this café seems to greet every visitor who arrives.
History & Menu
It’s fascinating to delve into the heartwarming story behind the origins of an ice cream café, which traces its roots to the legacy of a Chinese immigrant family and is now known as Fountain Ice Cream Café & Restaurant.
The story begins when Tan Ah Sie arrived from Shenhui with his wife and four children and settled in the city of Medan. Through hard work, he was able to provide for his family. In 1988, Tan Ah Sie’s grandson, Muliaman Tanmalano, founded Fountain Ice Cream with his wife. The first shop was established above the family bakery, and over time, it expanded into shopping centers.
The classic logo reading "FOUNTAIN Ice Cream Cafe & Restaurant Since 1988" stands as a testament to the long journey of a place that has successfully brought smiles to the faces of ice cream lovers through the ages. From a single modest shop, Fountain has now grown into a chain of cafes located in various places, one of which is in Langsa City. Fountain has created a masterpiece embodied in its sweet and delicious ice cream.

Vibe & Service
Upon entering Fountain, a warm, vintage atmosphere immediately greets you, with white walls covering every surface of the room, complemented by the friendly staff who are always smiling. Simple single chairs, classic wooden tables, and walls adorned with artistic paintings create a space that is not only visually appealing but also inviting enough to linger in, making every visit feel special.
The warm welcome at the door from the staff always makes a lasting first impression on guests; inviting them in while gently opening the door makes visitors feel truly respected. After choosing a table, the server approaches and asks politely, “Would you like to order now or wait a bit?” I think this is a true sign of respect by waiting for the guest’s decision.
I love bringing my wife and children to enjoy ice cream at this café, whether specifically for that purpose or while we’re strolling through Suzuya Mall Langsa. That’s because Fountain offers a wide variety of ice cream flavors ready to melt softly on the tongue. My favorite is the Traffic Signal, my wife loves the Summer Dream, and my kids often choose the Single Scoop Vanilla.

I’m thrilled to share this report with you about a Delicious Food Zone that offers truly sweet and delicious flavors. I think if there were a contest for the best ice cream spot in the world, Fountain would definitely be a contender.
