Self improvement or self examination is one of the key step to uplift the live status and it helps us to change the view of thinking and analysing the day today problem. It is important for us to keep on self examination because it will lead us to make good deeds and to make right actions to be happy and satisfied. In this post we will see some of the major steps for self examination and we will find some of the interesting areas in this regard. I am thankful to @memamun for organizing this contest.

✅1. Share your experience about how effective the psychological counseling sessions were for you in the past weeks.


Effectiveness of Tasks

  • From the Task 1: Task one was always about sharing my own thoughts on some past faced issue or emotional details. This helped me to think back to the time and journaling the situation that I have faced. In this way I recalled memories in my mind that even I never noticed that they were the problem but during the research, task helped me to think back.

  • From the Task 2: This task was mostly about making an exercise or work or visiting nature and this is the task which really attracted me to join almost five weeks of this contest because it was going to help me to boost my confidence by sharing thoughts in front of camera. And it was my initial experience appreciated my thoughts. This helped me to post my confidence.

  • From Task 3: This task was all about the mentioned story. And this helped me to unlock my critical thinking and thinking more logically. I always read the story and tried to answer it by logical thinking. I have never attempted such task before, in my life and I really took interest to note the problem to indicate and to make the correct decision.

  • From the Task 4: This task was a little effortful for me because it always required a graphically designed in photograph and I used a pretty old mobile phone and always faced some issues while designing that infograph. Well this was also amazing for me because I always learned that how to make infograph and after a long time I started to use camera again and I learned a lot new like presenting the infographic according to the situation. This task helped me to highlight the most important five steps that one can take to solve the desired problem.

Effectiveness of the Contests by Week

I have totally joined five weeks including this one. The week 1, week 3, week 4, week 5 , and week 6. In previously joined four weeks what I learned has been documented below.

From the Week 1

Week one helped me to think about my emotions. After a long time I was joining such a kind of task in which I was thinking about my emotional stability and I was assuming an old incident that happened to me during an anatomy session and I highlighted my mistakes that I made that time.

  • This task was also including a muscle relaxation exercise.

  • That exercise also helped me to learn something new from this task. I alternatively perform it even in these days.

From the Week 3

Week 3 taught me to control anger and we know that anger is one of the most basic emotion that every human face and it is very important for us to overcome this one emotion because this can cause a lot of harms that can remain far a long time. I learned many good things like making exercises to control anger and learnt the role of our blood pressure in increasing our anger and emotional blocking in angry situations. Therefore I joined this task and also made a long video to demonstrate exercises to control anger which was also a joyful and memorable moment for me.

From the Week 4

Week 4 remained also memorable for me because I shooted a video in front of my friends and I visited nature of my village after a long time. The most interesting part of this week was to differentiate between phobia and fear.

  • It helped me to differentiate between various kind of phobias.

  • This week helped me to visit that side of my village that I have never visited.

From the Week 5

Every single moment of this week was memorable as I made unexpected actions to perform that week contest effectively. I visited the zoo of Bahawalpur City and recorded memories into a video and enjoyed it a lot.

  • I recorded many videos that I have never recorded before for the same post.

  • I realized that being alone enhances more depression.

✅2. Discuss in detail what problems and good aspects you have understood, and what strategies you are adopting to solve the problems.


Dealing with Positive Events
My dealing with the positive thinking remains careful for me and let's see that how overcome the situation.

What usually happens

  • Overconfidence
  • Complacency
  • Fear of losing status
  • External pressure to “perform again”

My Dealings:

For dealing with the over-confidence I always see around myself that there are many other people to is this achievement and many people also have been failed so those who have failed to achieve this achievement will definitely get hurt if I try to be overconfident and in this way I successfully handle the situation.

While in the case of fear of losing status I try to work hard and honestly I have already faced a situation in which I have lost status by failing after achieving success.

No doubt when we get success especially in the field of education, and I myself as a student have faced this, society hopes to get the similar performance again but I note there are many distractions and there are many difficulty level which are faced by the student and due to some circumstances he cannot always give the same results therefore the fear of losing comes into my mind and I simultaneously not get boost after achieving success or in the situation of positive thinking because it is temporary.

Obstacles faced

  • Ego inflation
  • Distraction
  • External expectations
  • Comfort zone trap

Common mistake

  • Believing: “I am successful.”
  • Better mindset: “This strategy worked.”

Positive aspect

  • Confidence boost, stronger network, clarity of strengths.

Dealing with the Negative Events

What usually happens

  • Self-doubt
  • Emotional overreaction
  • Blame myself
  • Withdrawal

  • Step 1: Emotional Control: Well truly saying, emotionally I remain very stable even in the state of anger or in the state of any negative thinking until I wishfully do not try to jump into that situation. Emotional stability helps me to deal and it also helps me to think effectively.

  • Step 2: Taking Correct Action: I am not enough wise to take correct action in big situations but in the case of small situations it is still possible for me and when there is some big problem I always try to contact with elders and I think this is a correct action for me in the case of any negative thinking; it might be anything.

Obstacles in This Process

  • Internal resistance
  • Fear of judgment
  • Impatience (my reason for failure in vast areas)
  • Comparing myself to others (only in worst cases)
  • Lack of consistency

Mistakes Made

  • Sometimes I think emotionally before logical thinking
  • Overthinking minor failures
  • Ignoring small warning signs
  • Trying to handle everything alone

Positive Aspects
Below are some positive aspects that I feel always whenever I get some negative thought especially in the case of minor failures in different areas of the day.

  • Failure builds depth.
  • Success builds visibility.
  • Discipline builds confidence.
  • Reflection builds wisdom.

Mistakes Made by Mehvin

Self labelling as unlucky: As she had labelled herself as unlucky had to believe that she is unlucky in reality. She was trying to intermix her some failures with the failure of her personality or her on presence that is not just. There are many examples in the world that field for multiple times and even some of them field for hundreds of times but they didn't quit and became successful in their fields.

Her pattern of work: As mentioned in the story that she was used to abundant every project Midway. This was a big reason for her thinking of failure because every unfinished project becomes assign of failure and it stamps a mark of failure until it is not finished. At least she had to try to finish the project. This action made her psychology more depressive and negative.

Isolation from society: As in the previous contest I mentioned that isolation or loneliness causes to increase depression and their are more chances for a person to be more depress same the case is here she isolated herself from society and her negative thoughts dominated her mind and she started to be more depress.

The diary message she wrote: In her diary hero that nothing is possible for her and this statement highlights that she had be en severe depressive that lead her think deeply negative. While we all know that nothing is impossible for mankind but the statement was completely opposite and shows that she had psychologically accepted the failure of her life.

Mistakes Made by Mehvin's Father

There were early signs in the personality of Mehwin the she was going to be hopeless every single day but her father ignored it and it was a Red flag. The first step her father was must to take to give hope to her daughter by teaching her that she can do everything what she want and she is not week. Parents know about the past of their children so her father must advised her by giving example of her passed achievements which might improve to be an interesting and useful step to change the mind set of Mehvin.

Mistakes Made by Psychiatrist

Psychiatrist’s Advice

When she was found in remote village after the police involvement her father took her to a psychiatrist and she was advised by psychiatrist that be confident. This is right direction but I think this is not a right way to overcome the situation. It is very easy to advice someone but this case is so serious the psychiatrist must teach her the small steps that she can take to improve her personality to change her mind set because every big solution starts with taking small steps. These steps must involve structured therapy, cognitive unlocking and providing hope.

❓ Is Mehvin Really Weak?

Definitely No

She is not fake weakness mean lack of capacity but she was quit capable as:

  • She got hired for 7 jobs
  • He was capable for those jobs
  • She worked strong.

The only matter was the collapse of resilience that she should during the whole story.

Steps to be taken by Mehvin

Identification of the problem: Mehvin must a identify her problem that what actually goes wrong in every single job. Identification of the problem leads us to what the solution and once the problem has been identified it means we have 50% solved it.

Seeking Help: The story showed that she did not seek help. Because sometimes the mistake made disappear from our eyes but not from our colleagues or helpers and their for seeking help is the best option before collapse.

Reduction Perfection: in many cases many people try to be perfect and the y try to finish the task perfectly but this does not go according to their expectations and they quit Midway. Same the case maybe in our story and therefore Mahavin should have to done the task not essentially to finish it perfectly.

Steps to be taken by Mehvin's Father

As we have talked about her father's mistake earlier that he must see the advice of psychiatrist and posting the hope of her daughter by coating her the example of her past achievements.

What if I enter in the Story?

I know that there are many problems in the world that we have to face during our job career life and our education but if I under to the story I would possibly help Mehvin to solve her problem and advising her the all about mention parameters.

Sometimes becoming angry even men we are on right is not necessary therefore give raise to empathy in heart.

Growth Commitment 🌱: The finalized step include to see the feedback on the regular intervals for example this includes turning they defensiveness into curiosity and guilt into an action. Undertaking the weekly or regular interval helps us to grow fastly. This includes the best ways for the self improvement.
