Protecting Our Environment and making it look beautiful again

Our department, the Rural Development Department, is primarily associated with the development of rural areas. Our main objective is to implement various programmes aimed at improving the lives of people living in rural areas by providing them with employment opportunities, better facilities, and avenues for socio-economic development.

However, the role of our department is not limited to development and employment alone. Our responsibilities extend to several other important areas, including environmental protection, cleanliness, and sanitation. From time to time, we organise cleanliness drives and undertake various sanitation-related activities to keep our rural and tourist areas clean and sustainable.

I firmly believe that our department is going to play a vital role in transforming rural India in the coming years. Rural India is witnessing change, and I am hopeful that we will see a much more significant and revolutionary transformation in the years ahead. If there is one department that can play a major role in bringing this change to the grassroots level, it is certainly the Rural Development Department.

In this video, I have shared glimpses of one such cleanliness drive that we organised in Yousmarg, one of the beautiful tourist destinations near us. We spent an entire day there carrying out a cleanliness campaign. Along with our employees, several volunteers also joined us, and together we collected a considerable amount of waste from the area.

Unfortunately, many people still visit such beautiful places without caring about their surroundings. They throw waste and litter around without realising the serious negative impact it can have on our environment and the beauty of these places. This kind of behaviour is certainly harmful, but another important part of our role is to sensitise and educate people. We need to make them aware of the consequences of littering, the importance of proper waste management, and how sanitation can be maintained effectively.

This is also an important responsibility of the Rural Development Department, and I am hopeful that in the coming years we will achieve a lot more in these areas.
