This place is located in Shivnagar area of Fulbari Upazila. Today I went to Shivnagar area of Fulbari Upazila to buy mangoes. The mango orchards there are in full season now. I tried to frame some moments of the life and work of those who work tirelessly in those orchards to collect our juicy mangoes and deliver them to the market.

They work hard all day long. Seeing their work, it seems like these mango orchards in Shivnagar are like small factories. I saw a group of boys packing mangoes, another group bringing mangoes from the orchard in a van, another group loading the mangoes into a car. They work like this from morning to evening for 15 days. Some of them are hitting the trees with a hammer and throwing them at their companions in baskets below.

While working in the garden, one can see the social specificity among the workers. They have treated me very well and they treat others well too. There is enough space and equipment in the garden to carry out other activities including cooking. They have created a social bond with the people of our area in 15 days. Even though they have come from about 200 km away from Rajshahi, their activities make it seem like they are children of our area.

They mainly work with mangoes all day long and educate small and large wholesale customers about different types of mangoes and they clean those mangoes and give them various advice. They also calculate the market-oriented income and bare and give traders an idea of when which mangoes will be in high demand in the market. The president of all those working in this garden is a very experienced person. He is different from everyone else and he is above everyone in giving advice.

Their daily activities are truck van and packing work. They basically pack the mangoes from here and send them to different big places in Dhaka city and Rajshahi, making the quality easier and people can eat properly pesticide-free mangoes. When they work in the garden, their lifestyle is better. They eat the best and most popular foods in the garden and their president cooks these foods.

Taking pictures, I noticed a deep bond between the workers in the garden. They would talk to each other about various things and they would mutually reassure each other that their business would not suffer any losses. Despite working so hard, I never saw a trace of fatigue on their faces. I think it was their mutual relationship that created such a trust in them.
