Stadium Bridge, Tangail

Assalamu Alaikum, friends. I hope you are all doing well. By the grace of Allah, I am doing well too. Today, I will take you on a tour of a modern bridge in our city of Tangail. It is located next to the Tangail Stadium. The Tangail National Stadium is situated to the west of the Nirala intersection, and this bridge has been built over a river there. The bridge looks magnificent from a distance.

Boats were previously used to cross from one side of the river to the other, but the construction of this bridge has brought great convenience to the people; there are now various modes of transport available for crossing.

Residents on both sides are delighted with the bridge, as witnessing such a modern structure is a rare privilege. The bridge features a curved design spanning from one end to the other and is equipped with railings on both sides, much like a standard bridge. Iron pillars have been installed beneath the curved structure to ensure its stability and safety.

Intricate Alpona (traditional folk art) patterns have been beautifully painted on every plastered section of the bridge. It looks magnificent from a distance, especially when viewed against a backdrop of a cloudy sky.

Additionally, a specially designed walkway runs along the bridge, allowing passage from one end to the other; however, public access is prohibited, as it is reserved solely for maintenance and cleaning purposes. A river flows beneath the bridge, where boats occasionally pass by and countless fish thrive; the bridge itself enhances the river's natural beauty.

There are numerous trees at the far end of the bridge, offering some respite from the sun. In the afternoons, hundreds of people gather on the bridge to socialize; the open breeze makes it a delightful place to chat with others.

Mobile vendors also set up shop on the bridge during the afternoon, selling items like tea and various fast-food snacks. A drainage system has been installed every ten feet to prevent water from pooling; excess rainwater drains directly into the river. Auto-rickshaws constantly ply across the bridge, which has significantly enhanced the city's beauty.

Many people jog across this stadium bridge in the morning; its construction has benefited a great number of people. Nearby stands a massive stadium where various sporting events take place. Residents from this side of the bridge frequently cross it. I also took some photographs and observed several scenes while crossing the bridge in a rickshaw.
