What are two electrical appliances in your home that use a lot of electricity? Explain with original pictures.

Air Conditioner (AC)

Air conditioner

The air conditioner or AC uses the most electricity in our homes. Especially now during this intense heat, it has to be run for a long time. Running the AC cools the house quickly and provides comfort, but it consumes a lot of electricity. An AC usually uses many units of electricity even after running for a few hours. So this is one of the main reasons for the increase in the electricity bill of the house. Last summer, our highest bill for using the AC was 9000 BDT or around 1500 steem.

Washing Machine

The washing machine also uses a lot of electricity in our homes. Although it is easy to wash clothes, it requires more electricity to heat the motor and water while running the machine. Especially in families with more members, its use is more when washing clothes together. It has to be used all year round, so it uses a lot of electricity. We have more member in our family, So this is one of the main reasons for the increase in the electricity bill of the house. This is the second appliances in our home that use a lot of electricity.

02.What two methods do you use to reduce electricity consumption? Show at least one practical method with a selfie

Not turning on the lights before noon

1000149208.jpg

In our house, windows and doors are kept open during the day so that natural light and air can enter the house. This means that we have to use less lights or fans most of the day. Earlier, lights were turned on during the day even for small tasks, but now we try to use sunlight. This not only saves electricity, but also makes the atmosphere of the house feel much fresher.

Each and every time Switch check Habit

1000149210.jpg

This is a new habit in our family. Before leaving the house, we all check whether the lights are off, whether the fan is running, and whether the charger is plugged in. This small habit has reduced a lot of electricity waste in our house. Especially the mobile charger and TV switches used to be turned on unnecessarily, which has reduced a lot now. I started this habit when I was in school. I appriciate my teachers for adviced me for this habit.

03.Have the two methods you use to reduce electricity consumption resulted in a reduction in your electricity bill or not? Explain

Yes, it definitely helped. Earlier, we were not very aware of electricity usage in our house. Even during the day, lights were left on unnecessarily, fans were running in empty rooms, and even after the mobile was fully charged, the charger was left plugged in for a long time. At that time, the things seemed small, but after receiving the electricity bill at the end of the month, we realized how much wastage had been done. Although these habits seemed very simple at first, after a few months, we started seeing real changes. The electricity bill started coming a little lower than before. The most important thing is that now the electricity wastage has decreased a lot. Another big change has come mentally. Now everyone in the family is aware. Where before no one paid attention to the issue of turning off the lights, now everyone reminds each other. As a result, not only money was saved, but responsibility and awareness have also increased.

What I like best is the thought that even small habits can bring big changes. Maybe you don't see a big difference in a day, but if you are aware regularly, your electricity bill will gradually decrease and energy wastage will be prevented.

04.What is the easiest habit for you to save electricity?

1000149222.jpg

"Turn off the lights and fans when leaving the house."

This is a very simple task, but many people forget to do it inadvertently. I used to leave the lights or fans on when I was in a hurry and went to another room. But now I have made it a daily habit. The biggest advantage of this habit is that it does not cost anything extra. It is possible to save a lot of electricity just by being a little aware. Especially in our country, the demand for electricity is high at times, so even small savings can play a big role.Another thing is that when I myself follow this habit, other family members are also inspired. Now, when someone leaves the house in our house, someone else jokingly says “Did you check the switch?”
This small habit has become a responsible culture in our family. I think saving electricity starts with small awareness.

05.What advice would you give to others to save electricity so that they can reduce their electricity bill and save money?

I think that saving electricity is not just a matter of personal gain; it is also a social responsibility. If we all use electricity consciously, not only will our bills be reduced, but the country's energy waste will also be reduced and the pressure on the environment will be reduced.

I would like to give some simple but important advice for others:

  • Turn off unnecessary lights and fans

  • Use natural light during the day

  • Use LED bulbs

  • Do not leave mobile chargers plugged in unnecessarily

  • Use AC and refrigerator consciously

Saludos amiga.

Buena suerte!.

Good post. The discussion about the high electricity consumption of appliances like ACs and washing machines, especially the AC bill reaching 9,000 taka during hot days (I think it's huge), is truly a matter of concern for many families. I really appreciated the simple yet effective habits you mentioned, such as using natural light and air by opening windows and checking switches before leaving the house. These small practices can make a big difference in the long run. I also liked how you highlighted the importance of building awareness and responsibility within the family. You are absolutely right that such awareness not only saves money but also makes us more responsible individuals. I have not participated in this contest yet, but InshaAllah I will soon.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful post, and best wishes for the contest. 🙂

¡Holaaa amiga!🤗

It is our social responsibility to prevent wastage of electricity. Moreover, by preventing electricity wastage, we can save ourselves from financial losses. It is absolutely wrong to run light fans unnecessarily, you are doing right things by switching off the electric items.
Thanks for sharing.

I can relate with you friend, here in the Philippines the heat strikes to 40°C so it really needs an appliance inorder to cools down the body temperature, and on your part it is really relaxing because you have an airconditioned in your house, nice!
