A proper trip also includes proper food — and when you stick with this motto, you're usually on the right track. That's why during our last short trip, we quickly aimed for the opportunity when it arose. And even though our stomachs were quite full afterwards, we were all really satisfied.

In order to eventually achieve this state of satisfaction, we cut back a little during the day. Actually for some reason it's much more fun to eat and drink in the evening. And that's when this nice buffet, which was served in one of the hotels, came in at the perfect time.

Well, it wasn't really first class, but there were quite a few different things to try and it was also very tasty. Usually, you first have to try a little of everything to know what to go back for in the second round.

And to make sure everything goes down smoothly, it's best to treat yourself to a local drink to wash it all down. This also helps to relieve some of the stress that you've built up over time.

When it came to firewater, I had a choice of three different types, which I naturally tried them all. Some was a little spicier, some a little fruitier – although with sake, I tend to prefer the latter. But since I rarely have the opportunity to do so, I still haven't found a favorite.

And that ultimately means only one thing: I'll just have to keep trying!

Zu einer richtigen Reise gehört auch richtiges Essen - und mit diesem Motto ist man normalerweise auf der richtigen Seite. Und aus diesem Grund haben wir uns bei unserer letzten Kurzreise auch daran gehalten, und als die Gelegenheit sich bot, auch richtig zugeschlagen. Und auch wenn wir danach so richtig voll waren und der Bauch drückte, waren wir doch alle so richtig zufrieden.

Um am Ende diesen Zufriedenheitszustand zu erreichen, haben wir dann tagsüber ein wenig verzichted, denn aus irgendeinem Grund macht es abends viel mehr Spaß zu essen und auch zu trinken. Und da kam uns dieses nette Buffet gerade richtig, was in dem einem Hotel angerichtet wurde.

Nun ja, es war zwar nicht wirklich First-Class, aber trotzdem abwechslungsreich und auch recht lecker. Meist muss man sich ja erst einmal kurz durchprobieren, bis man dann weiß, wo man bei der zweiten Runde noch einmal zuschlagen sollte.

Und damit alles auch richtig rutscht, gönnt man sich am besten noch einen lokalen Tropfen, mit dem man alles runterspült. Und der einem zusätzlich hilft, ein wenig von all dem Stress abzubauen, der sich über die Zeit so angesammelt hat.

Beim Feuerwasser hatte ich die Wahl zwischen drei verschiedenen Sorten, die ich natürlich alle durchprobiert hatte. Mal etwas schärfer, mal etwas fruchtiger - wobei ich beim Sake wohl zu Letzerem tendiere. Aber da ich viel zu selten die Gelegenheit dazu habe, hat sich bei mir immer noch kein Favorit herauskristallisiert.

Und das heißt dann wohl am Ende nur Eines: Ich muss wohl noch weiter probieren!
