Greetings
week--26|| My Weekly Food Highlight
I always strive to create diverse content; and so, today I have returned to you with a brand-new post. Today, I will be presenting the best meals of my week, along with my thoughts and feelings regarding them. Food is always something fascinating. I extend my sincere thanks to @ngoenyi for organizing such a wonderful contest. So, let's get started---
Since I am currently living in a student hostel for my studies, I do not always find the time to cook for myself. Consequently, at the beginning of each month, we pay a fixed fee to cover our meals. Moreover, since meals in a hostel are prepared in bulk for a large number of people, the food—while perhaps not always gourmet—is quite hygienic. However, on "Grand Days," the meals are exceptionally delicious and delightful.

Friday(Lunch)
(Rice and Pea Ghugni Recipe)
I had these dishes for lunch on Friday, pairing the ghugni (made with yellow peas) with rice. Ghugni tastes delicious with puffed rice (muri), luchi, roti, or paratha, but since rice is the staple food of our country—and I love eating it—I chose to serve it with rice. It turned out to be quite tasty.
Saturday(Lunch and Dinner)
(Puffed rice,kumri, fried flattened rice, and karamcha pickle)
On Saturday afternoon, I had kumri with puffed rice. Puffed rice generally tastes best when paired with various types of chops or pakoras. The kumri served at our hostel was made from sweet pumpkin and gram flour, though it looked quite similar to beguni (fried eggplant fritters). Later, I had some fried flattened rice (chire bhaji) prepared with onions and scrambled egg. For dinner, I had karamcha (Bengal currant) pickle that I had made myself.
sunday(Lunch and Dinner)
(Fried pointed gourd, fried potatoes, Mihidana, semolina halwa, and sweets)
On Sunday afternoon, I had fried pointed gourd and fried potatoes. At night, I enjoyed some special sweets—items we have to buy at our own expense. Whenever we feel like it, we either buy or prepare extra treats for ourselves, though friends often gift them to us as well. Among the sweets I had were suji halwa (semolina pudding), jaggery-based sweets, mihidana, and some yellow-colored sweets; they were all truly delicious.
Thursday(Lunch)
(Naan Bread and Pea Ghugni)
Our university is home to many small canteens where one can sit and enjoy a meal amidst nature. Consequently—at the insistence of a friend—I headed over this Thursday lunch to the "Naranda Shop," a spot particularly renowned for its naan. They served the naan accompanied by Ghugni—a dish prepared with dried peas—and we savored every delicious bite while sitting amidst the natural surroundings.
