Currently, I am staying in a mess next to the college. Being very close to the college has created a special attraction for me towards the campus. Even in the midst of my daily busyness, I visit the campus whenever I get a chance. Especially when it is prayer time, I go to the campus mosque and offer my prayers. The familiar environment, my favorite field, and the presence of my loved ones fill my mind with a sense of peace.

I went to the campus last night to offer Tarawih prayers. When I was walking towards the field after the prayer, I suddenly saw the Shaheed Minar on the campus. From a distance, it seemed as if it had been decorated in a new way. When I got closer, I saw that the Shaheed Minar had been decorated with great care and love. There was lighting around, a clean environment, and the impression of respectful preparation. All in all, a different atmosphere was created. The reason for this decoration was only one great Ekushey February, International Mother Language Day. On this day in 1952, in memory of the brave youth who sacrificed their lives demanding Bengali as the state language, tributes are paid to the Shaheed Minar every year all over Bangladesh. International Mother Language Day is not just a day; it is a day of our self-identification, a day of sacrifice, a day of pride.

In the 1952 Language Movement, countless unknown and unknown heroes including Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar, and others saved the dignity of the Bengali language with their blood. In the history of the world, we Bengalis are the only nation who have sacrificed our lives for our mother language. In recognition of that sacrifice, UNESCO declared February 21 as International Mother Language Day in 1999. Since then, this day has been celebrated with dignity in different countries of the world.

Seeing the decorated Shaheed Minar on the campus, it seemed like it was not just a structure, it was a symbol of our history, a symbol of self-respect. The Shaheed Minar standing in the silence of the night seemed to silently remind us that this language is yours, blood has been shed for this language. Standing in the light-dark environment around me, I felt a deep emotion. It seemed that standing on this ground, under this sky, we are carrying a great historical legacy. Every year, in the early hours of Ekushey February, people go barefoot to the Shaheed Minar and pay their respects with flowers. The voice resounds, "Ekushey February, painted with my brother's blood, can I forget it?" This song is not just a song, it is the pulse of our consciousness.

Seeing such an event on campus, it seemed that the new generation has not forgotten history yet. They know that the dignity of language means the dignity of the nation. Language is not just a means of communication; it is an expression of culture, identity and soul. The great Ekushey has taught us to protest against injustice, to be brave in achieving rights. The responsibility of today's generation is to properly nurture that language and culture and pass it on to future generations.

Standing in front of the decorated Shaheed Minar on the campus, I feel only one feeling of pride. We are the children of a nation that knows how to give its life for its language. May the great 21st always remind us of the glory of sacrifice, unity, and patriotism.
