1-What is Speak on Steem?

Speak on Steem is an initiative designed to bring audiovisual content into the Steem experience. In this phase we will focus on IPFS adoption.

2-Why focus on video?

Video content has a powerful ability to connect, teach, entertain, and build community. On Steem—a place that welcomes diverse formats—video remains a largely untapped medium full of potential.

3-What kind of content do we support?

In this month, we will curate original videos that:

  • Are shared in a Steem post with a link to the video. Preferably videos uploaded in IPFS or Speemclips format

  • Include a clear description or reflection about the video content.

  • Mention Steem (either verbally, visually, or in the video description).

4-Cover topics such as:

  • Personal vlogs with meaningful insights.

  • Tutorials or educational content.

  • Opinions on blockchain, crypto, or Steem.

  • Documentation of events, challenges, or community activities.

  • Visual art, music, or performances recorded as videos.

5-How to create a quality video

Here is some keypoints to create better quality videos:

  • Record your videos in vertical format for Speemclips (1 to 3 minutes long) or in horizontal format for IPFS (longer than three minutes).

  • Use video editors such as Capcut, InShot, Davinci Resolve.

  • Communicate something in your video, make it with a purpose (entertain, educate, create dicussion, etc) it's not about recording anything without sense, but create a meaningful video that connect with your audience.

  • Make a single video with all your clips, don't add several clips separated.

  • Don't make videos specifically about a kid doing something, Protect minors from social exposure.

  • Record using your voice in over, or during the clip itself, silence is boring.

  • You can use free music from Pixabay and platforms like this.

IMPORTANT: Spam content such as third-party videos, copyrighted videos, etc. will be ignored.

6-Basic Rules:

  • Use the tag #steemvideo.

  • Videos must be original and at least 1 minute long (Shorts accepted).

  • Clear audio and visual quality is required.

  • Content must provide value—whether informative, entertaining, or inspiring.

  • Steem could be mentioned in some form in the video.

7-How to Get Curated

  • Use the #steemvideo tag, mention Steem in your video, and provide original, valuable content.

  • You just need to share your speem post with your friends and they need to play it to mark your view. They don't need an steem account to generate views to your videos.
