Today I have come to talk about the traditional mill shop inside the railway factory, which is located on 101 one acre land in Saidpur Upazila of Nilphamari district. Let's get started.

The sawmill shop is a very important shop for Bangladesh Railway. All the wood required for the railway fleet was supplied from the sawmill shop at the Bangladesh Railway factory in Saidpur.Currently, it stands as a witness to a tradition. The saw mill shop is almost closed due to lack of manpower.

Due to the absence of disease in the saw mill, retired employees are called in to cut wood when needed. Once full of people, this saw mill is now abandoned, but there is a lot of old machinery as a witness to history.

At one time, wood was cut inside this railway factory 24 hours a day and night. How modern were the machineries at that time? In the past, wooden sleepers were used on the railways of Bangladesh. Now, the wooden sleepers have been replaced with cement sleepers.

The railway factory in Saidpur was built during the British era. If it had been so modern at that time, these machines would have been there. These machines, built at a cost of thousands of crores of taka, are lying abandoned due to lack of manpower.It is truly surprising that no work is done in this place anymore, but this place remains a witness to history, as crores of rupees of wealth are being lost to the ground.Once upon a time, there was a touch of modernity, but now they too remain damaged. One can only imagine how modern the British government was almost a hundred years ago. Regular machines are still functional, but they are in a dilapidated state due to lack of craftsmanship.
