First night in Nuwaraeliya

As I told you earlier , we arrived to Colombo Fort Station nearly at 9.45 am. As we left from home nearly at 6.30 am we did not prepare anything, and we discussed having our breakfast in Colombo . We searched many places to have our breakfast, and we noticed many places which had good reviews . But the thing was there were not any good places where we could walk. We thought that going to breakfast by a tuktuk carrying a big travelling bag is a difficult thing. So finally we went to a restaurant which is about 1 km near to the station and had our breakfast . Actually I can't remember the name of that place.

Then we came back to the fort station nearly at 11.15 am.Furthermore, we had more than one and a half hours to our train. We found a good place to sit, and finally we spent our time there drinking a nescafe to refresh our minds. Fortunately , the train Tikiri Menike came by at 12.15pm, and there were many locals and foreigners waiting for the train.

As we booked seats in first class, we were able to travel very comfortably. There were only a few local passengers, including us and all the others were foreigners.

As I mentioned earlier, I started my journey very enthusiastically, looking at the surroundings. Many passengers got on the train from the next stations. Among them, many passengers get out from the train in Kandy. Then only a few people were there. In the morning it was shining well, but by the time we arrived in Kandy, it was raining. Meanwhile, I saw news that a major landslide had occurred in the Kadugannawa area, and I felt a bit scared.

Although we thought that we would arrive in Nanu Oya around 9.30 pm according to the timetable , it was about ten thirty at night when I got off the train.Then we got a tuktuk and left for our guest house. It took nearly 20 minutes to go there. We had selected "Roshan Guesthouse" in Waterfield Drive, Nuwara Eliya.

We booked the ground floor of the guest house for the three of us. There were 4 bedrooms , a kitchen and a living area. The place was calm, comfortable and clean. Since it was late when we reached there, we were able to get dinner at the guesthouse itself.
