It was a lovely day

I make Dana for our temple every month on the 28th. On this particular day, I got up early as usual, roughly at three in the morning, to prepare dana for the Buddhist monks in our temple. There were fifteen Buddhist monks and two assistants.

I prepared rice and curry, string hoppers, and red cowpeas. In addition, arrange lunumiris and scraped coconut to eat with cowpea. As curry for rice, fish, dhal, and mixed salad. For string hoppers, potato curry, and pol sambal. For pirikara, I purchased sugar, milk powder, tea powder, and bananas.

As the monks leave for Pirivena early in the morning for education, I have to get to the temple by 6.30 a.m. Therefore, I arranged all the food in containers. Then we left the house and offered all the dana to monks. One Buddhist monk handed over to us the Buddha Puja. After we offered the Buddha Puja to the Buddha shrine, another monk came and gave us pansil.

As it was my pet grooming day. I removed his extra hair and cleaned his toes, ears, and eyes. After that, I bathed him. His favourite activity is combing his hair.

After that, I made curry and rice for my son's family and us. I fed Beenu and had lunch with my husband. Then I went to my son's house with their food. My grandson is anticipating my arrival to play with me. Therefore, he was very delighted to see me. Until their parents had their lunch, he played with me.

In the evening, there was a Jahuta (Street) drama organised by our Women’s Welfare Society, which was held in our welfare society hall. We had to arrange dinner and tea for the drama group. The foods were shared among the women in the scheme. I agreed to arrange rice for everyone in the group. Therefore, in the evening I went there bringing the rice.

After the dinner, we all went to watch the drama. It started at 9.30 p.m. The drama was Sakunthala, and it was lovely. As well as full of jokes. We had no sense of time passing. A large crowd attended to watch it, and it ended at around 1:00 a.m. We were all happy that day, as we could have a good time after a very long time.
