Assalamu Alaikum. Greetings Sri Lankan community. How are you all? I hope by the grace of Allah, you are all doing well. Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, I am also doing well. I pray to Allah that we are always doing well.

Today I want to talk to you about my childhood hobby. Basically, every person has some hobby in their life. I also had various hobbies in my childhood. And one of those hobbies was my great love for birds in my childhood.

Basically, I am a bird lover. I like to raise birds all the time. I like birds very much.

When I was in my free time, and when I was very young, I used to find bird nests every day. Since I lived in the village, I used to see a lot of birds living around my village. When I saw the birds in the village, I used to find their nests and go there to search for eggs.

I used to like holding bird eggs with both hands a lot more. But I used to feel a lot of affection when I saw the days. Because when I used to go near the bird nests, the birds would scream and then I felt a lot of affection for them.

When the birds screamed, I would put them back inside the nest with my hand. I used to see some bird nests and they had hatched. I would take the little baby birds in my hands and put them back.

Several years ago. In the month of Baishakh, small mangoes appeared on the tree and suddenly black clouds appeared in the sky in the afternoon. I was very scared when I saw the clouds. Because black clouds in the month of Baishakh create the possibility of rain or storm.

When it was evening, a light wind started. In the evening, the light wind bothered me a lot and then a strong storm started. We had a house made of mud. The tin that was placed on top of the house flew in the wind and I started crying.

There was a strong storm at night and then I fell asleep at night. After waking up, when I went to the mango orchard, I saw a small baby bird. I felt very sorry for the baby bird and it was shivering in the cold.

The mother bird suffered all night. The little bird was getting wet and shivering in the rain and it was very cold. Finally, I brought my baby bird to our house and I made a bed for it with cotton. After making the bed with cotton, I sheltered the bird and I started nurturing the bird.

But unfortunately, after a few days, the bird died and I cried a lot. But the family members consoled me. Because the bird died in my hands and I was finally able to take care of it.

Basically, animals maintain the balance of our environment. We should never hunt birds. Because birds eat insects in our crops and help maintain the balance of the environment.

Basically, there are many memories in childhood. One of my memories was raising them. Birds are such a thing that gives us constant joy. I like the call of birds very much and I try to tune in with the cuckoo bird sometimes.

Listen, we love birds and we contribute ourselves to maintaining the balance of our environment. Birds are the most beautiful animals. We will never try to raise birds in captivity. As birds are beautiful in the sky, we will release them freely in the sky.
