How to Draw a Starry/Cloudy Night With Soft Pastels
Hello my Steemian friends!
Today I want to share with you a short video tutorial showing how to draw a cloudy and starry night, with soft pastels.
The list of materials I used is as follows:
- Soft pastels Mungyo - https://amzn.to/2zIoarO
- Kneaded eraser Prismacolor - See it here: http://amzn.to/2cvi6G7
- Chamois cloth - http://amzn.to/2zxnJOn
- Blending stumps - https://amzn.to/2zJ85C8
- A 13 x 20 inch black cardboard paper
Let me know if you have any questions.
All the best,
Leonardo
My brother and sisters watched your YT video while drawing this starry night. My mom is also impressed!
It was really amazing how you made those trees with the eraser.
We might try that on paper. We don't have chalk right now but we have lots of pencil and erasers.
You made a beautiful artwork!

Did you get a curie vote? WOW! I'm so proud of you Leonardo! Congratulations! Your drawing is beautiful. The sky is so dreamy and real at the same time. Your video is very good too! I like to see how you made this master piece. Thank you for sharing and I'm looking forward to see more of your drawings!

Very good work, as always! Thanks for the tip, I had never used erasers with pastels. Pastels yes, but I didn't like how it feels on the fingers, so I have very few drawings with this medium. Because of you now I would like to try it out again. :)
Thank you for your comment my friend, and I'm glad it inspired you! One thing that you could do if you don't like the feeling of chalk, is to use very thin rubber gloves when you work (like doctor's gloves). Maybe that can help?
Thanks so much Master, I will try it out! :)
A few months ago I started to use gloves for painting with oil, it's really nice to work with them!
Thank you @artisleonardo, beautiful video, well demonstrated how perfectly pastel can be used, even for beginner that is easy to try, I hope it will encourage people to try pastel, it is so beautiful medium and really people may find a joy in creating such master pieces. Well presented, explained in details, nice tutorial :)
Congratulations @artistleonardo!

Wow! It was so great seeing the transformation. The sky really is beautiful, you made it look so simple to do, is it really?
Beautiful @artistleonardo!! I loved the video tutorial! It is always nice to see how artists transforms a blank piece of paper or canvas into something magical like what you did. It does look easy isn't it. Do you frame it after? I am wondering how do you keep the drawing because chalk tends to "drop" or fall off the board. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
