Steem Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 6 Overview

in #steem6 years ago

We had to watch 146 minutes of PL football on Sunday before my Steem-pick suddenly scored a brilliant goal. Lacazette’s goal helped Arsenal to a 2-0 win over Everton though I didn’t think he was as threatening in the game that I had expected. 8 points took his overall score to 31, third most of all forwards this season. With an ownership of 4.7 % his a great differential pick. In the other game on Sunday, That I also previewed, Chelsea lost their first points of the season in 0-0 draw away to West Ham. Though Chelsea had 72% ball possession and 17 goal attempts while West Ham managed only one attempt on goal West Ham were as close to winning the match as Chelsea. Yarmolenko (6.8m) had a golden opportunity to score for West Ham but his clear header in front of an open goal went wide.

Manchester United and Wolverhampton also drew (1-1) which was a quite expected result if you ask me and and a fair result if you ask Mourinho: “I think the result is fair. They deserved their point and we deserve the punishment of only getting one point". Wolverhampton were the better team in the beginning of the game but it was Fred (5.8m) who scored 1-0 with his first goal in a Manchester united shirt, assisted by Pogba (8.2m) with an wonderful “no-look” pass. In the second half Moutinho (5.4m) did a “Fred” and scored his first goal for his new club. The match as a whole was yet a sign that Wolves will be a top-ten team this season.

Man city eased past Cardiff in a 5-0 win with double digit scores from Bernardo Silva (7.5m). Gundogan (5.5m) and Mahrez (8.6m) while Liverpool scored three in the first half against Southampton to then in the second half more or less just save energy for their upcoming games. The highest scoring player in that game with 15 points was Matip (4.9m). Matip has before this game played one minute in each of Liverpool’ three previous games but when he finally got his starting spot it took only 21 minutes for him to score his first goal of the season.

Burnley suddenly woke up from the death, scored 4 and got a clean sheet against Bournemouth. A result that no one saw coming, but a really important result for Burnley that took them out of the bottom three. Results from other games further down the text.

What did we learn from gameweek 6:

Manchester City are scoring at a rate of over three goals per Premier League game in 2018/19 so far but finding the right player for your fantasy team isn’t easy. I have said it before and says it again: you can never trust Pep and his rotation. This gameweek Man City midfield points lottery continued as David Silva (8.6m), the one i thought was most nailed on, missed out. Fortunately for me as an Bernardo Silva (7.5m) owner it was he who scored the highest points this gameweek after 4 blanks. Even though, I’m looking to get rid of him in the near future because I just don’t feel it’s worth it with the City-rotation dilemma. Owning City midfielders is very tempting but also very frustrating.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (10.8m) and Alexandre Lacazette (9.4m) is a match made in heaven. Maybe this is a little bit too much said, but at least they score points when they play together. They have no both scored in three of the last five PL matches they have started together.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (4.2m), the most-owned Fantasy player, delivered maximum bonus points and a clean sheet for the third time this season. So far this season, with a red card and one missed match included, the Palace right-back is averaging 6.7 points per million spent. The key for Palace’s good defending can though be found in another player in the backline, James Tomkins (4.4m). With Tomkins on the pitch Palace have kept three clean sheets in four games this season.

James Maddison (6.6m) could be a player to own. With his total of 34 points his now fifth among midfielders. Already in the first game of the season against Man Utd he passed my “eye test” though he didn’t get any attacking returns. Maddison’s underlying numbers haven’t been great and many have said that his attacking returns were not sustainable, but in the last four Gameweeks he has created more chances than Eden Hazard (10.9m) and only one fewer than Mohamed Salah (12.9 m) and David Silva (8.6m). His form in combination with a great run of fixtures until gameweek 15 will see his 9.4 % ownership increase.

Gameweek 6 average score was 52 points. The world number one manager with his team “InSané FC” managed to hold on to his first place though his score this week (63 points) wouldn’t have been enough for a top-20 place in our Steem Fantasy League this gameweek. “InSané FC” have a total score of 497 points, an average of almost 83 points per gameweek with “triple captain” and “wildcard” chips played. In Steem fantasy league the highest score in gw 6 was set by team “Steemmomo” with 78 points. A strong defence with four defenders and a goalkeeper who all registered 6 points or more and a midfield and attack with players like Salah, Gundogan and Mitrovic who all scored nice points was the recipe. “Steemmomo” is though in need of more big scores in the upcoming gameweeks if the team is aiming to catch the leader in our league, “Sashank”, with 412 points and all chips yet to play. Sashank scored 70 point this week and climbed to the top. Well done!

What a splendid Game week overview, Chelsea will always have better possession this season it's in the tactics of the manager really and it's reflecting in their game
