How long will STEEMIT be around?
This is a question that could be asked of many things. It seems as each week goes by there are more and more competitors to Steemit. Such as EOS, Weku, and GOOGLE? I was completely un-aware of the Google competitor, but some good news on the front. Google has just shut down their social media site for good they are saying. After a massive data breach, they are giving it up. Well that is some good news, but the question is, how long will Steemit be around. I personally feel that unless communities are a huge change to the eco system, Steemit itself might not be long for the world. But I do feel that is SMT's are launched soon, Steem will be long for this world. What is your take? https://finance.yahoo.com/news/apos-bad-politics-mismanagement-backstabbing-054017557.html
I had that same feeling, but in small percentage. More over the crypto is not in the very good state atm.
But since the new HF, It hink those who stay are the loyal user, and we can count on them to keep steem alive.
Ya, but we will need more users to grow.
I feel steemit would continue to be around as long as quality posts and content that are being churned in daily are rewarded accordingly.
But since the voting has gone linear, I feel that has gone away. I feel it is all about your stake now.
But i saw when they said self voting is bad. But does it really make sense when i put up stake here and then start upvoting others and wont get any upvote from others?
Ya, that is the problem, but is there really a fix?
You only used the image of the tombstone so as to set me off day-dreaming.
At least they are undergoing huge upheavals with shareholders now authorised by the institutions to vote out Z
Not that I trust those who take over to be better. The only way to provide a permanent solution is for them and the other big tech to be split up into smaller pieces. Unfortunately, for that to happen, it would require a planet wide agreement that they must be controlled - and it is more likely that we'll undergo real extreme climate change, as claimed by the U.N , than for that to happen (UN only want to use it as an excuse for them to amass even more power over national governments), so, what is the solution?
There are plans afoot to alter the Web so that no corp can have our data...let's see if it works out.
Well the big tech companies control everything, and it is bad for us all. Look at google maps. They don't work at all anymore, but they are suppose to make a self driving car. Please just get my phone to work atleast 90 percent of the time.
If self-drive cars were independent of outside control, I'd be in favour - but not when it means the government (or maybe hackers?) can switch it off, immobilising me - or drive me to where they want me to be. I had not thought of them needing google maps...which makes me dislike them even more, since I have stayed away from google for years.
Ya, it is crazy. 3 tech companies have all the control.
