Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but to quote the Steem White Paper, "Value is in the Links."

You are providing value to the content creator by increasing viewership and to the viewers you bring in by sharing valuable content! Once the reward becomes high enough to be truly noticeable, your YouTuber might jump in himself. :)
