I still can't believe they actually managed to pull off a hostile takeover even after that soft fork. Everything that was built on this blockchain is pretty much collapsing at the moment, such a sad day for decentralization.
The witnesses were aware of the funds locked in poloniex (JS owns it) and so this move must have been considered as a possible route.
It’s a tough one for sure.
