Indeed I tested it and it seem to work fine.

All I needed to do is to change https://api.steemit.com to https://api.hive.blog/ (this small field on the left from "send" button)

The only "confusing" thing is that if we're sending hive, then we may have impression that we're actually sending steem (this tool suggests that if we look into logs).
