RE: MARKETING STEEM # 1 : Do we need a Steem PR service?

in #steem19 days ago

Public Relations and Marketing are both somewhat related but have very different purposes.

I have done tremendous amount of marketing in my early days of Steem but with time I realized it's not helping at all, no matter how good the image I portrayed or how compelling the message I spread. Steem has always been attractive, so undoubtedly people get curious and join. But, they leave...

I always thought we need something more, something bigger. The reason, I kept quiet about the on-going promotion contest. I think instead of randomly making videos and everything... the promoters need to be educated first, the target audience needs to be defined.

I definitely don't think the target audience should be those who need money or anyone with basic blogging/writing skills for that matter. Instead, it is the investors and the developers.

(For that, LinkedIn is the best tool. I've shared my opinion about LI in the past as well. I think it has all the big fish we need to drive Steem forward. I've been thinking to do something about it once I have formed a viable plan.)

And here comes PR in the picture, I'm glad you thought about it. To attract investors and developers, a positive image of Steem on authentic and reliable crypto sources is extremely crucial.

I'm eager to know how you go about this. It might give me a better vision on how to take Steem on LinkedIn and find the big fish.

Defining target audiences will be very important.

We have several to aim at - with a different tailored message for each.
