how to create a new "trending" category
I posted 2 articles about C64 themes and it is listed in a new c64 category (also visible with the tag #c64
) and they are the only articles in this category. In general, all articles are automatically visible as https://steemit.com/trending/name, where name is a tag. Your posting is listed on a trending page for each tag you use in the tags line below your posting box. This posting uses the following tags:
#steem #steemit #tags #trending #foobarcategory
As you can see if you click the "foobarcategory", only this article is in the trending page for this tag. Note: If you write or edit an article, all hashtags you use in the article, are collected automatically in your list of hashwords in the hastags line below your article.
maybe you should try adding hashtags directly in the body of your post... seems all the rage these days like: #hashtaginception
yes im thinking that's how it works #hashtagthis
Tags in the article doesn't matter for the trending page, it is all the tags you write in the tags line below the posting. I've tested it and updated the article.
good to know
thats exactly what I suspected which is why all these hashtags which are popping up are so funny to me. I want to see if I can get #hashtaginception trending for the 'lulz' though I doubt I'll be able to. Would be amusing though.
It is a bit more complicated, I updated the article: If you use a hashtag in your article, it will appear automatically in your list of hashtags for your article, unless you escape your hashtag with ``, as demonstrated for c64 so that this article doesn't appear in this category.
