RE: "Blow Me, Cunts." - Wise Words That Describes Our Atmosphere

in #steem7 years ago

I hear you... This place stinks on so many different levels. I know about at least a handful of people doing wonderful, generous and mind-blowing things for others. For growth and to support other people. To improve the overall experience... But that's not enough, because one or two other individuals can easily just flag them and reduce or even take away everything they've tried to build. I hate it.

What's bothering me the most, is actually the fact that all of these people wants the same thing. They want the price to increase and they are doing various things to make Steem a better place, but they seem to rather fight each other than to work together. And I'm not even talking about the most recent things between FTG, marky, bernie and whatever. I'm talking about the bigger picture here.

This is bad for Steem. I truly believe that we are doomed, or that we will be doomed shortly, because this causes too many negative consequences. Most people don't care much about you, me or any other Steemian having less than 50K+ SP... And the heavily invested people continue to cause drama, forces people into despair and anxiety with their daily actions, and I don't think that they even realize what they are doing.

Just look at the most recent war or whatever you wanna call it between marky and FTG. Literally hundreds of people are forced to chose a side, they trash-talk each other meanwhile the other part has to defend his actions or behaviour. They're pointing fingers back and forth with no solution in sight.

Minnows and seaweed can bark all they want, but they will never be able to stop this shit. The lesser accounts relies on the big-dogs and we survive on the crumbs they drop... When these big-dogs are going to war like this, they bring down the entire community, the entire platform, due to disagreements among them.

They counter each others flags and votes. They reduce rewards of a few cents here and there... And let's be honest. The $0,10 cents might not mean much for these people, because they have hundreds of thousands or even millions of Steem Power, but that same $0,10 cents means the world for many others.

Also something these people doesn't seem to care about or realize.

Sure, I invited people to take away my rewards with this article, and I stand by those words. But look at it. One flag took away $0,16 cent of rewards... Because it's a "counter flag" for something entirely different.

This is not about plagiarism, spam or any of that. This is strictly due to a disagreement between the big-dogs. I have nothing to do with this, but I'm caught in the middle of all of this. It has a negative impact on my rewards and on me... Due to all the drama around us.

I hate it. I can't even express myself properly enough about this issue. It's lame, boring, bad and sad for all of us. In the long run, we're definitely doomed, as long as these people continue to behave like they are doing.

Sort:

Flags from whales and orcas have rarely been about plagiarism, spam or any of that, it has nothing to do with reward pool rape, and all to do with someone found a way to get more than them. There is a lot of talk about flagging spam, and such, yet they are the ones doing most of it. They bitch about circle voters, people who have a tight group of friends who enjoy the shared content that they produce, while they do the same, they are the Do as I say, Not as I do people. They will not change, there is no point in even trying to get them to see the errors of their way, because they know they can do as they please with little to no consequence.

If the real owners of Steem Inc cared about the social aspect of the steem blockchain they would take action, I have come to the conclusion they do not care, and likely will never care about the social aspect of steem blockchain.
