The new feature on steemit.com called Communities have shuffled things around a little. One thing you might have missed is that Blog is not the only place where people post anymore.

The Posts tab also has fun stuff. So the next time you go to someone's profile on steemit.com, check out Posts as well:

      Wait... what's the difference from blog and posts? They looked identical until I posted something yesterday (now that only appears in "posts" and not "blog".

        Blog is for non-Communities whereas Posts are for everything (including Blog). I point this out because it's the biggest gotcha for people new to this feature.
