Steem Pitch debriefing

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

Last post, I wrote a pitch for Steem to past students of swiss universities living in Bangalore. It was good to have planned it a little, even if I feel I forgot to talk about half of it.

At the end of the pitch, one attendee just asked one question: "What is the use of crypto-currencies?"

That is when one small debate started.

I also realised that I didn't prepare about that type of fundamental question to be ready in front of a crowd.

I tried to Antonopoulos the crowd with my "separation of state and money is the new separation of religion and money" but I'm pretty sure it wasn't as effective. And the more I think about it, the more I think it sucks as an argument. Why? Because, it looks like religion and state is still so in-grained. It didn't change much since Middle Age. It's so easy find examples of state+religion, and more so than ever.

Finally, with the pitch session finished and the adrenaline level decreasing, I forgot about the 5 Steem give-away invitations.

During the diner, I was very happy 2 attendees came to me to ask for a Steem invit. Thanks to @exyle for creating the accounts.

Now I'm waiting for them to come and start steeming.

Cheers!

With the indian crowd you need to lead with liquid gold pitch...everyone understands gold in India..

Bitcoin as liquid gold is a nice metaphor!
