Exchanging Steem

So I want to sell a few dollars of steem on the market and then take that steem and exchange it for Bitcoin as a test to make sure I know what I'm doing when I want to do this with a larger amount. I have a bitcoin wallet with Coinbase. Can someone either explain what I do or give me a link to a post that explains it? Thanks so much
