Why The 'Know Your Witness' Initiative?
For the first few months on Steem, I had no idea what Steem Witness is all about, although I saw fellow Steemians mentioning it whenever the some of the witnesses post. After those months when I had some undersatnding, I decided to help the much I can to share my knowledge.
This idea of creating a forum to educate Steemians, especially newbies on **what Steem witnesses are, was hatched last year, but due to certain circumstances, I couldn't start. Now we have started in earnest. I did my best to explain what Steem witnesses are. The summary of the maiden hang out of #knowyourwitness was written voluntarily by @mike4christ. Thank you very much, @mike4christ for taking on the responsibility, even without my telling you to do a blog.

Nice, witness is the pillar of steemit , we all at all times need the best of them. I took out my time for the first time to vote on 30 witnesses for the first time. Many I know, some I do not. But taking that time is a path to know more I do not know also choose my best 5, 10,20 and 30 at all times. Thanks for this wonderful program
It's a good thing that you've voted for 30 witness. It's more important to know the witnesses you cast your vote for. I'm almost one year old a Steemian and have only voted for 21 Witnesses. There must be proof of the work the Steem witness is doing, before I can cast my vote for him/her. Join us as we discuss the top 2 Witnesses projects. Cheers.

@maryfavour, it is a good initiative to put this particular forum based on your pass experiences you had on finding it hard to know what and who steem witnesses are, that's exactly how life should be, when you pass a certain stage in life, you learn lessons and also try helping others so as not to fall victim of what you passed through, it's a good example and an attitude worths emulating.
#knowyourwitness has always been a learning platform for me because all my unknown steemit question and secret are being revealed there.
