RE: ~2.5 Years Ago, I Advertised Steemit To Well-More Than 500K+ People.
I am finding myself wanting to be in a similar position in expanding outside of Steem to distribute the thought and opportunity of what is being built here which I feel is encouraging. However, this is truly my first social media experience with purpose so I still find myself hesitant to the thought. However, in the meantime, I find that reading and learning the process is my first step. I would surely encourage you to come back and repeat these efforts as this time, the ecosystem is different and could attract and retain great users in searchbon content creation and consumption and not just the crypto craze. Thanks for sharing!

The sad part is that many of the users here who promoted Steemit on other platforms did it in the wrong way from the get go. Many of our well-known authors and influencers we have here were practically forced to advertise Steemit like a treasure chest. A personal ATM. Just like I did.
It obviously worked tremendously good as long as the value of the tokens where worth more... But as soon as they started to decline, people started to behave differently. Greed and selfishness suddenly became "the way to go" and people started to leave. - Instead of changing the advertising approach, people continued to push Steemit like THE way of becoming a millionaire in an instant.
I can't help it, but I feel like we crippled ourselves by doing that. Many people already have negative assumptions and opinions nowadays, so its more difficult to change their minds.
That being said, I have a handful of ideas of things I am going to do during 2019, and hopefully, some of them will have some sort of positive affect.
