Steem like many other innovative and disruptive projects is like a revolving door. Many will leave because of concerns but some will join and add value to the project. At the end, the involvement of many will help the development and balance needed for it to succeed. Those that stay could leverage the learnings and adapt as it proceeds.
I think that with each spin of the door, each up and down, the core gains more weight and gravity and a few more will stay each time.
