Take Steem Back Before It's Too Late
The Power Of Our Community
As many of you already know by reading the dozens of posts similar to this one, Steem was recently hijacked and our worst fears became a reality. All the top 20 Witness spots were taken over in a coordinated effort of several exchanges and new Steemit Inc owner Justin Sun.
Fortunately, the community has been hard at work to get real witnesses back in the top 20 spots before our home can be completely desecrated by those who really haven't even a basic understanding of how any of this works.
As you can see, we've already reclaimed 3 of the top 20 spots, but we need every Steem community member to vote for your witnesses right now. Do not wait; this is extremely important.
It's easy to spot the fake witness accounts because they were all hastily created in February 2020. As of this writing, they all seem to have around 400-500SP.
Your next step is simple. Set aside your differences and head straight over to https://steemitwallet.com/~witnesses and vote our real community leaders back into the top 20 spots. DO NOT DELAY.

yeah, i have been seeing a lot about this and despite being on Steemit for many years I still had 20 or so unused witness votes. They have been used now.

Awesome! I actually was in the same boat myself. I only had a few of my witness votes in use. It looks like all of these campaigns are working, at least. It looks like we now have 7 out of the top 10 witnesses. This makes it impossible for Tron to take over. We'll see what happens next...

I did everything I could to get my vote in for the people who deserve it. It seems like there have been some new developments and I need to get caught up on all of that now.
Yeah, me too.. I read that there was a meeting and some other things, but I am super behind at the moment! At least we have taken enough top spots back to stop any further madness.
We are in scary times I think Rick, I just wish that I understood more about the complicated Steem Politics ~ but I have voted for several Witnesses that may help 👍

I couldn't agree more, I am new to Steemit and have quickly had to work out the good from the bad. I only have 7K Steem vested but I did my bit to restore 7 genuine Steem witnesses who actually care about an incredible community I have got to know in a very short space of time. I'm so pleased that it looks like we are pushing back the attempted hostile takeover, it's true testament to the power of a community when faced with adversity to come together and stand up and neutralise the threat. Incredible to see.
It was almost quite satisfying listening to Ned on Discord last night desperately trying to get liquid Steem back into those accounts which the exchanges used to powered up in their collusion with Justin Sun to take control of the Steem blockchain. I've never seen anything like that. Ned was also talking about allowing Justin Sun and Tron the right to a veto, I don't think that's the way to proceed at all.
Oh, wow! I missed out on that conversation. I actually got on Discord, then ended up having to leave. Yeah, the community has really come together on this one. I just hope they don't have any other nasty tricks up their sleeves. Trying to undermine elected witnesses is only going to drive the price in a negative direction, so I hope they realize this now.
