I absolutely agree, this is a very good idea and the whole steem ecosystem could benefit a great deal from having a trusted UI offer the escrow features. Trusted steemians could earn a bit on the side as escrow agents and all kinds of financial transactions and deals that would have otherwise been too dangerous, could suddenly become possible. And everything that boosts the utility of the steem blockchain is bound to boost the actual value of steem too.
The Steem blockchain could also become one big decentralised ecommerce platform in addition to being a financial platform.
Yep, there is huge potential in this little known feature. And as you rightfully pointed out, the existence of SBDs makes this a prime candidate for that as it offers the kind of stability no other cryptocurrency can which open ecommerce as an option wide open.
