Happy New Year

Just some quick thoughts before bed.

It's been interesting to watch the steem network grow this past year. Due to inflation on the platform I've only lost money with all my efforts at curating, but the app base is growing, steem inc is making serious changes. Looking at the art community in particular, users come and go, right now is the most inactive I've seen in a long time. However there is a core of artist and art communities which are continuing to grow. I've been exploring different methods of curating and the different platforms and groups poping up to support better curation, which has been really interesting to me.

What I've learned is that steem is still very experimental. It's not even a platform I'd suggest to many people at this point because it doesn't work well for casual blogging really. I'm optimistic that steem will continue to sort itself out and grow into something interesting.
