Thanks @chireerocks, I think it will remain a deadlock for a while longer. Things could change once the exchanges have powered down enough for someone to buy in and push witnesses up. It is likely that Justin will buy Steem to push out our top witnesses, which is concerning.

Whatever the case, the current system for selecting witnesses needs revisiting. We don't want to land in this situation again.
