Obasanjo and Bukhari Saga 2

For the records, OBJ defeated Buhari in 2003, in a big way as a matter of fact. Yar'adua, a Northerner like him, defeated him in 2007. And Jonathan, a minority, defeated him hands down in 2011. There is nothing super about Buhari except his tribal bigot followers. Any bigot can have that, and it is a fact they can never be enough to win a national election. Not in Nigeria anyway.

Buhari won in 2015 because of the National coalition of "Jonathan Must Go!". The Northern Establishment supported him. The Generals supported him, the political class supported him, Babangida supported him, TY Danjuma supported him, Obasanjo supported him, Atiku supported him, Saraki, Tambuwal, Tinubu and others supported him. The civil society supported him, the media supported him, the judiciary supported him. Half of all the political parties, even PDP, supported him.

The fact that with all that support, he was only able to win with a paltry 15 million against Jonathan 12 million, a difference of only 3 million is an indictment on him. It shows him as a poor and weak candidate. Jonathan got 24 million votes against Buhari 12 million and a difference of about 10 million votes without such support in 2011. Buhari is defeatable!! Nigerians have done it before and Nigerians will do it again.

I only hope his supporters would give us peace the same way Jonathan's supporters gave us peace when he is sent back to Daura. Dogs and Baboons should not bath in blood anymore. At least Buhari now has the retirement money he couldn't make in 1985 when IBB booted him out.
