I like the idea of making 7 cents on a shit post, it is great advertising because most people make $0 on any post. If we could show how much these posts add up we could get the reddit crowd to try steem out but they already have tried, no one can get a steem account when they need one heh. We still lack a centrally planned onboarding system by steemit inc . No one else but Steemit inc is going to fund the mass onboarding of users to Steem, a chain only they own such a large stake in... so its their problem and theirs alone... However i do see @elipowell the new Steemit Inc CEO as business savvy enough to understand this. I believe she will make the right decision to sunset the website and not allow her employees to see it as some sort of insult on their work when steemit inc needs to focus on the back ends not the front ends, as originally intended by @dan larimer . Steemit inc is supposed to focus on the blockchain like a foundation and act more like block.one with only a 10% stake in EOS. TO make this more clear, if Block.one were steemit inc, it would be as if block.one had everyone using their one website to allow 90% of the users of EOS to access their wallets, and dapps and anything to do with EOS. And only having keychain for dapps is like only having scatter and nothing else so when it goes down steem is screwed! It really is weird how little infrastructure for the blockchain is built for steem. There is a nasty habit of steem devs mystifying things instead of just doing work we need. Other steem devs who rose out of the userbase like inertia are the opposite and go out of their way to break office protocol lingo to explain things like a human. But when we read steemitblog posts we hear this strange tryhard attitude from what sounds like a college student trying to impress a professor or bosss by using as many big words as possible. :D
