I Tried to Charge My Mouse Battery… And Things Went Wrong 😭

My PC uses a wireless mouse, and one day the battery suddenly died. Unfortunately, I couldn't go outside at that time to buy a new one, and I really needed to use my mouse.

So I started thinking of another solution.
I had an old USB cable, so I removed the outer covering and exposed the wires. My idea was simple: connect the positive and negative wires to the dead battery and somehow charge it.
I first connected the USB cable to my power bank, and it immediately switched off. I thought maybe the power bank was the problem.
Then, somehow, I decided to try connecting the USB cable to my PC instead. 😭
That was when things went completely wrong.
After plugging it into my PC, I noticed a burning smell coming from the USB port. I quickly realized that this wasn't going the way I expected.
I tried switching on my PC afterward, but it wouldn't turn on. At that point, I knew my little attempt to bring my mouse battery back to life had possibly caused a much bigger problem. 💀
Looking back at this battery now, I can't help but laugh at how one dead mouse battery turned into a whole PC problem. 😂
The lesson? Don't let desperation turn a small problem into a bigger one. Sometimes, just getting the correct replacement is much better than experimenting with things you don't fully understand.
This little battery definitely gave me a lesson I'll remember. 😭
