Red-legged Seriema | Animal 003
1️⃣ The Red-legged Seriema is the most predatory land bird of its family. It inhabits the grasslands of South America, from southern Brazil to Uruguay and northern Argentina. Though widespread, it’s absent from areas such as the Atlantic coastal forests.
2️⃣ It measures 75–90 cm in length and weighs about 1.5 kg. It has a long neck, tail, and legs. Plumage is brown with black markings; the head, neck, and chest are lighter, and the belly is white. The tail ends in white with black bands. The beak and legs are red, and its yellow eyes are complemented by soft feathers forming a crest beside the beak.
I really love its unique look!
