SLC28-W1 | Worldwide Travel Explorer : Explore Government Institutions.
I hope you all are doing well. Today I am very happy to share my participation in the Steemit Challenge Season 28. This is the first week of the contest, and the first week’s theme is to visit any government institution, explore it, take pictures, observe the services, and then share a complete review with everyone.
For this purpose, I decided to visit my own university campus, which is a government institution the University of Sargodha, specifically the IT and CS Department which is named as Muhammad Ali Block I have completed my degree from this university, so revisiting my own campus felt special, and I wanted to explore it again and share my experience with all of you.
As I reached the university, the first thing I did was take a front picture holding my travel card, which I had printed two days earlier. I clicked the main picture right in front of the entry gate of the IT and CS campus. On the left side of the campus, there is a beautiful building made with red, maroon and skin-colored bricks.
In front of this building, there is a green grassy area where students usually sit, relax, and enjoy the fresh air. Exactly opposite this building, there is also a wide ground. On the right side, there is another similar building, surrounded by greenery and big trees. Each classroom has large windows for natural airflow, which keeps the rooms bright and airy.
When I entered the campus, the first thing visible was the long corridor with stairs leading to the upper floor. Classrooms are located on both sides, and every classroom has proper ventilation and windows. I also visited the trophy section, where all the trophies won by this department in academics and sports are kept inside a glass cabinet.
Since the campus was half closed and we have completed our degree just came to submit thesis , many rooms were locked, but I still explored what was open. I then showed the teachers’ kitchen, which has a stove, utensils, oven, and all the basic things teachers need for tea, coffee, or warming food.
Next, I visited the admin office of the department. This is where we go for any guidance related to admission, documents, exam issues, or general help.
Outside the admin office, there is an information board showing all the details about the building, including the name CS & IT, the system capacity of 76.38 kW, the number of solar panels installed, the structure type, and even the number of trees planted around the campus.
After that, I explored the washroom area. The department has separate, clean washrooms for males and females. They are well-maintained, cleaned daily, and have proper water facility without any issues.
Then I visited the classrooms. The classrooms are spacious, with good lighting, ceiling fans, windows for fresh air, neat chairs and a clean environment. In winter, when the windows are closed, the rooms stay warm, which makes them comfortable for studies.
I also visited the computer lab. This was one of my favorite places during my degree. The lab has high quality computers for every student, equipped with all the required software.
Practical work is taught properly, and teachers monitor students’ screens through the large LED projector installed in the lab.
The lab was neat, and students were attending a Capital LMS practical class at that time, using their assigned systems.

The teachers in this department are very cooperative and teach everything clearly. They respect students and create a friendly environment. Because it is a government institution, the fee is affordable, and admissions are given strictly on merit since seats are limited.
The general public opinion including mine and the students’ is that this is a very good department. Being a government institution, it provides proper teaching, regular practical work, and serious evaluation through presentations and thesis tests. The teachers are extremely cooperative and supportive, which creates a positive learning environment.
Another thing worth appreciating is that the university never faces load shedding even if electricity drops for a second, it returns immediately, so all facilities such as computers, fans, lights and the hot cold water dispenser work smoothly throughout the day. The department also offers a prayer room and a small rest area where students can relax between classes.

However, there are a few improvements that students often mention. There is no proper sitting area outside the classrooms, so when classes end, students have no place to wait or sit comfortably. Adding chairs or a small sitting space in the corridors would be very helpful.
The corridors also lack fans, which makes them extremely hot during summer, so installing fans in common areas would improve comfort. Another issue is the absence of a nearby canteen; students have to walk quite far to reach the main university canteen. A small tuck shop near the department would make things much easier for everyone.
This was my visit and review of the CS & IT Department, University of Sargodha. I truly enjoyed exploring my campus again and sharing its facilities, environment and overall experience with you. I hope this gives you a clear idea of how good this institution is.
