What type of daily necessities business is in the highest demand in your area? (Street cobblers, mobile accessories or street clothes etc.)-

Bangladesh is a densely populated country and has a large number of middle-class and lower-middle-class families. Various roadside shops can meet the shopping needs of low-income people. Such as cloth shops, mobile accessories shops, and shoe tailoring shops. All these item shops are equally popular in my area.

Clothing shops: -

The area where I live also has a large number of middle-class families. Naturally, many cloth shops have been established here with low capital. These shops are open in the morning under the open sky, and there are various items here, such as various types of gauze fabrics from which women make their clothes. Small-capital traders run shops selling shirts, pants, T-shirts, and other items for small children.
I have observed that the businessmen are doing well. A lot of customers come to the shops. They visit different shops, bargain and check their products, and buy them.

Cobbler's shop: -

People from middle and lower-middle-class families cannot buy a pair of shoes whenever they want due to their low income. When their shoes are torn or need to be dyed, they go to the cobbler, where they repair the shoes and wear them again. This business is quite busy in my area. I have not seen any cobbler sitting still; they always have customers, some sew shoes, some dye them, some come to do special work on shoes. I also go to the shoe shop to get a pair of my shoes repaired. I have to wait for a while and then get the shoes stitched.

Mobile accessories

Currently, mobile phones are one of the most popular items. No matter how poor or needy one is, one must have a mobile with them. Also, if there is a problem with the mobile, it needs to be resolved quickly. Keeping this theme in mind, many mobile accessory shops have been established in the area. They sell various items, including mobile headphones, mobile covers, batteries, mobile stands, and memory cards. They introduce their business by setting up a simple wooden table.
So, I would say that in my area, cloth shops, cobbler shops, and mobile accessory shops are all equally popular.

Have you bought or seen these yourself? Show pictures + videos and show their prices.-

I myself am a child of a middle-class family. So, I often have to buy various necessities from these shops. Today I visit and observe what new products have arrived.

Clothing shops: -

I went to a cloth shop located in Shahi Bazar. I saw a lot of customers in the shops on the side of the road under the open sky. Different types of customers crowded the shops. Today, I did not go to buy any item; I just went to see if any new gauze cloth has arrived. I need some cloth to make a salwar for my wife, so I came. I went around and observed the shops. I saw the shopkeepers and customers haggling over the price of the product. I saw their busy time passing.I asked for the price of a couple of clothes. Which I have presented below-

Cobbler: -

I have been in the area for about 12 years. Since the beginning, I have been sewing shoes from this cobbler. The cobbler's behavior and his difficult life struggles attracted me to him. I often talk to him. I listen to the story of his struggle. He supports his family by sewing these shoes. He is teaching his four children, treating his sick mother, and running the household. No matter the storm or rain, he does not buy anything other than from this shop.
I came here after sewing my shoes. I never ask for the price when sewing shoes because I know that he never took an additional charge from me. He always keeps the right price.

Mobile accessories: -

My headphone is broken, so I go to a shop on the Postogola footpath. There are hundreds of shops sitting on the side of the road. I visit a few shops and choose a pair of headphones from a shop. I know that the items are available in the footpath shops, but their quality is good. I bought a of headphones for 250 takas after bargaining a little.

How is the quality of these products? Also, if you have any experience about how long they last, please tell me.-

I sometimes have to buy various items from roadside shops. I know from my personal experience that the quality of these products is not always good. They last for a short time, especially clothes. The clothes lose their color after a few days, and they become faded. They are not suitable for wearing anywhere. Not only that, but there is also no situation to wear them at home all the time. Still, I have to buy these clothes due to the situation.

The same is true for sewing shoes. They get damaged after a few days and have to be sewn again.
Mobile accessories work well for a few days, and then various problems arise.
Then, due to socio-economic hardship, many people, including me, meet our needs by sewing clothes, mobile accessories, and shoes on the sidewalk.

How do people behave towards street vendors? (Sympathetic, ignoring, bargaining etc.)-

Not all people in the world have the same character; some are rough-tempered, they want to dominate everyone and talk to them, while others respect everyone, treat people as human beings, and treat them well.

Sympathetic behavior and contemptuous behavior can be observed at the same time with street vendors. Some try to force them, treat them badly. Again, it is also seen that many people treat them well, treat the shopkeepers as their own. They value them as human beings.

However, one thing is worth noting that everyone buys their products by bargaining here. No product is sold here at a fixed price.
