SLC27-W5 | A One-Day Street Journalist: The Struggle Of Street Hawkers.
"Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem"
This is @tammanna from #Bangladesh.
How are your friends? I hope everyone is well, and I am well too. Alhamdulillah, today I have come to participate again in the contest organized by @max-pro. I like this contest very much because here we, as journalists, can review any shop and present all the details to all my friends.
What places did you visit and what types of hawker businesses did you review?
Today I saw various shops organized by different types of hawkers in front of Daffodil School in Naogaon city, and I will review them. There is a school, but due to some vacant spaces along the main road outside the entire school premises, several hawkers come here every day and try to occupy the space and sell their products here.
Here we will see not only one shop, but also several shops in a row. There are plastic shops, steel shops, and hardware shops. In addition to various food shops, we will find shops for various necessities, plants, and everything else in these areas.
Here, every shopkeeper buys their goods from wholesale shops at a low price and tries to sell them at a slightly higher price, but people try not to buy too many things from here, and those who do buy do not like to buy at a very high price, but rather feel comfortable buying things at a low price.
Have you ever bought anything from these stores? Show pictures + videos and show their prices.
Sometimes these kinds of things are very necessary, but if there is no need to go to the market to buy a few things, or if you do not feel like going to the market, we can get these kinds of things at hand and very close to you. Similarly, I also bought two bowls and three spoons from here a few days ago, and I sometimes try not to buy necessary things from here.
How do they face sidewalk occupation, eviction or police harassment?
Of course, the shops or hawkers on such sidewalks have to face harassment from the police at different times or outside the expected times because they have not purchased their specific land or any specific part of it for the shop they are setting up on the roadside. They use the vacant land on the side of the road. And there they conduct their shop inspections, which is why they sometimes face harassment and sometimes plans to evict such shops start, but most of the evictions of such shops start during the month of Ramadan, when they are responsible for cleaning all the streets and alsoDue to the sale of various types of Ramadan goods during this month, plans and efforts are being made to remove such illegal or unauthorized shops on the sidewalks during this time.

| Steel bowl | 60 | 5.85 |
| Spoon | 30 | 2.92 |
| Plate | 120 | 11.70 |
What are their biggest challenges and hopes for continuing this business?
To continue their business, they can only hope that their shops can always be operated properly every day and that efforts are made not to remove them from the side of the road. They also always try to change their removal from the road to a specific shop and continue their business in a specific shop.
