Vegetables are one of the most important items in people's daily lives. Buying fresh vegetables is essential for daily food, cooking and maintaining a healthy diet. There are many small markets around us, out of which local small markets actually play a big role in people's lives. In the light of that experience, I visited a small vegetable market located in the Tolarbagh Gate No. 3 area.

01 What vegetables are available at the vegetable shop you will review?

Although the vegetable market at Tolarbagh Gate No. 3 is small, various seasonal fresh vegetables are available here. Such as brinjal, okra, patol, pumpkin, bitter gourd, potato, onion, tomato, garlic, ginger, cucumber, etc. Apart from this, among the vegetables, red spinach, spinach, puishak, kalmi spinach are available. Coriander, raw chili, mint, etc. are also available most days. Some special vegetables also come depending on the season, which are not available every day. Today, I see seasonal vegetables like cauliflower in the market. Still, everything necessary for daily cooking can be obtained from here.

02 Have you ever bought anything from these stores? Show pictures + videos and show their prices.

Yes, I have personally bought vegetables from this market many times and have had a good experience every time. The sellers are generally sincere and help in choosing the vegetables. The prices are also not much different from the general market and if you want, you can get them at a lower price by bargaining a little.

03 How do they manage losses when vegetable prices fluctuate?

The vegetable market is very sensitive. Prices sometimes decrease, sometimes increase. For this reason, sellers never stock a large amount of goods. They collect as much as they have the potential to sell every day. Some products are given bulk supply to restaurants, hotels or canteens before they spoil. Products that have a low market are sold in small packets or cut into pieces. This reduces the possibility of rotting or spoiling and the losses are also limited.

04 How do they survive when there is a lack of buyers in the market?

Even if there are few buyers for some days, they survive through some strategies. First, they attract buyers with small discounts, combo packs, offers. Second, they maintain relationships with regular buyers. Third, if necessary, they also deliver to their homes by taking home delivery or phone orders. In addition, the sellers coordinate prices among themselves so that no one ever breaks the market unnecessarily. Their management, patience and strategy together make this market survive.

Local small markets are directly involved in people's daily lives. Here, it is not just transactions, but also people-to-people relationships, experiences, bargaining, and selection of fresh products. All of this together creates a humane trading environment. I understood this after visiting this small vegetable market at Gate No. 3 of Tolarbagh. The sense of responsibility, business knowledge and coping strategies of the sellers who work hard every day to maintain the market are truly commendable. Therefore, local small markets are an important part of our society, economy and food security.
