How do you want Steemit to be if asked?
For any content creator that values their creativity and hard work, Steemit has offered one of the best social media platforms to make money from it. There are many platforms that provide rewards only for the user who creates content, while Steemit provides everyone a chance to earn by blogging, engaging and consistency. With the years that have passed since I started using this platform, I've learned much, but there are some things that could be better.
Three Things I Like About Steemit
1. The right to freely express creativity.The right to express originality.
I really love Steemit because it allows users to express themselves. Individuals can write about anything from sports to technology, lifestyle to travel, education to even personal experiences. This is a freedom that lets users express their talents and knowledge without the needless constraints.
2. Opportunity to earn through content creation:
Steemit pays users for good content and interactions. This is a rare occurrence on a lot of social media sites. In this case, you can get rewards in cryptocurrencies for your effort. Until the market value of STEEM changes, it's still good to know that your efforts are valued and rewarded, even if it is sometimes a modest reward.
3. Strong Communities and Interaction
Steemit is a vibrant and educational platform due to the communities! Steem4Nigeria is a community where users can grow, learn and connect. Users form friendships and develop their writing abilities in the process of commenting and interacting with others. The caring atmosphere of people who know and help others that are new also appeals to me.
Three things I would want to change on Steemit.
1. The addition of a chat feature.
I wish Steemit to have a direct messaging or chat function. This will facilitate communication among the users, curators and members of the community better. Users would not have to switch to other applications such as Telegram or WhatsApp, but could interact with the app on Steemit itself.
2. Better Reward Value for STEEM
One more thing I'd like to see is the increase of the value of STEEM. Some users would like to see the amount of the payout displayed instead of the dollar value of their posts. The more the STEEM value increases in the crypto market, the more incentivized users will be and the more creators will be drawn to the platform from all around the world.
3. Improved Notification System
Limited notification system can cause users to miss out on comments, replies or significant updates. I hope Steemit can continue to enhance its notifications to get users involved quicker and enable them to remain active on the platform.
Preventing Injustice or Favoritism on Steemit Blockchain.
To get rid of favoritism on Steemit, I think it is best to be transparent when curating posts. The emphasis should be on the quality and originality over personal relationships of posts. Communities can also establish rules and guidelines for voting and support so that all hardworking users have an equal opportunity to grow.
If I Have an Issue With a Curator, Will They Vote My Post?
Even if we disagree between each other, in my opinion a curator should vote on my post, if I think it would be better served by someone. Emotions and personal conflicts should not be used as a basis for curation; rather, it should be based on quality, effort and originality. The role of a curator is to be fair and professional since Steemit is a platform of community growth and encouragement.
Conclusion
Content creators already have a fantastic platform for Steemit, and there are lots of benefits. Despite some room for improvement, the platform continues to be one of the many social networks based on cryptocurrencies. I think that Steemit is going to be even bigger in the future with better features, increased transparency and more value to the STEEM.
