Steem4Nigeriaccelerator Contest Week 126: My experience with daily contribution collectors (DCCs)
Do you know Daily contribution collectors? What is your experience with them?
Yes, of course, daily contribution collectors are the people who serve as agents by collecting daily savings from the traders, where they visit from one home to another or shop, who save part of their profit for future purposes. Daily contribution is also known as ajo in Yoruba land. These collectors use cards where they indicate the amount of money paid by the contributors.
My experience is that this contribution is very useful, people collected the cash at the end of the day and use it for important things, because using the money at the right time let us know the value of daily contribution. There is one man or woman who is usually collected the money; in fact, they would also be on bike or bicycle with the uses of horn to notify them that they have around.
Another experience I also have is when the collectors run away with the people money after that we discovered that the collectors use their money to do rice business. He disappear with the money without seeing any traces of him. So we must beware of this kind of collectors because they are not trustworthy.
How long have you been with them? Can you recommend people to them?
I don't usually do daily contributions because I don't have any micro business I am running, but what I normally do is a monthly contribution, where we save cash for the purpose of purchasing a cow, and the meat is distributed to people who are fasting during Ramadan. I have been doing this for more than one and a half years.
I recommend this method to the people, especially traders, so that they can make progress in their business. They would never regret it once they trust the collectors as well as know his whereabouts. Most successful business owners still using this method and they are doing well with it because they know the advantage they are derive from using it.
Do you think every business owner should join daily contribution collectors?
Yes, every business should join the daily contribution because it's not good to use all our money to eat only food. We must save part of the profit we make on a daily basis. By the time we collect the money and reinvest it back into our business, everyone will wonder how we made it to this level. Some business owners also use the money they save with the collector to pay for the shop they rent, and this also help them to move forward in any business they are chosen.
Daily contributors is the road to success because it help an individuals to reduce waste of resources and it's doesn't have interest unlike saving money to the fixed account in the bank.
If the collector dies, will you forfeit your money or ask the relative to pay you, hence there's no written agreement?
If their is no written agreement their must be proper record for our daily contribution, if the collectors dies their relative can search for log book and paid those who have money with him. If my daily contribution is not that much I will forfeit that money for the family because Islam is the religion of peace where it allow us to forgive someone who owed us and passed away but if it's big money I will collect part of it and leave the others to the member of the family to take care of themselves.
I will like to invite @entity01, @sana-khan01 and @rossnenye to participate in this contest
