Contest: Fifa World Cup is Here!
INTRODUCTION
It's another exciting time and I will be participating in this beautiful and enlightening contest, all thanks to @sahmie. The Fifa world cup is not an every year event so it is always looked forward to by lovers of football and even those who aren't lovers of football. This year's competition comes up on the 11th of June to 19th of July, 2026. So let's talk about it in this contest post.
Which country do you think is going to win this year's edition and why?
This year's Fifa world cup will be hosted by three countries, the United States, Canada and Mexico. 48 national teams will be featured. I can't really say which country will win this year FIFA's world cup but Argentina won last with Messy as one of the players. They have the best coach, Jorge Sampaoli. France also has a chance as it has the most valuable and best Squad. They have Dembele on paper. They have a chance of winning the cup. But I'm predicting Portugal as the second best Squad on paper led by one of the greatest goal scorer in history, Cristiano Ronaldo.
What makes a World Cup tournament truly memorable for you, besides just the winner?
A lot of things makes the world cup tournament truly memorable and looked forward to. The opening ceremony is always putting me in a state of euphoria, I can't miss it. The merging of cultures, experiencing other traditions, the artists involved, the atmosphere, the closing ceremony etc. This is one game that brings people together and makes people forget we are of different hearts and minds. The world cup brings people of different tribes, different countries, different religions together. It is memorable because it is an event or sport that is held every four years.
Are there any specific players you're really excited to watch in this year's edition? Why?
Yes, I'm excited to watch Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi because this is going to be their last world cup appearance. I'm also excited to watch Hurry Kane also nicknamed Hurricane because he is Europe's top scorer and I'll want to see him take England further. Also looking forward to Michael Oliseh and Lamine Yamal who have been very consistent. But then, I'm generally looking forward to see all the players.
