In your understanding, Kindly define "Experience".

In my opinion experience is the lesson of a person's life. That he gets from time, circumstances, successes and failures. It is not just book knowledge but it is the name of learning from the events that happen in practical life. When a person goes through a hardship or a joy himself, he gains from it an understanding that stays with him forever. Experience teaches man to face reality and makes him wiser and stronger.

For example, a driver is initially afraid to drive. He reads the traffic rules, but he gains real confidence while driving on the road. Repeated practice and exposure to the conditions makes him a good driver. That is the real experience.

I fully agree that "Experience is the best teacher" because what a person learns from his life experiences, he never forgets it. Books only give information whereas experience explains the truth to man. When a person himself goes through a situation, he feels its effects and that lesson is preserved in his mind forever.
For example, if a student is repeatedly told to value time, he may not take it seriously, but if he fails an exam because of wasting time, he will not forget the value of time throughout his life. Similarly, in business, people learn to make better decisions only by taking losses. This is why experience refines and strengthens a person's personality.

I think experience is gained not only from successes but also from failures. Sometimes our mistakes become our greatest teachers. Because they teach us to be careful in the future.

According to me learning from mistakes is relatively slow but it is the deepest and strongest way of learning. Books and mentors show us the way and we benefit from the experiences of others, but when a person himself makes a mistake, that lesson leaves a greater impression on his heart and mind.

For example, if a child is repeatedly told that fire is dangerous, he may just listen, but if he accidentally touches something hot, he will be more careful in the future. Similarly, if a farmer grows a crop in the wrong season and suffers a loss, he will make a wiser decision next year.
This does not mean that books or mentors are not important. In fact, they can save us from many mistakes. If a person learns only from his mistakes, a lot of time in his life can be wasted. Therefore, it is very important to benefit from the experiences of others.

How would you balance between learning by experience and listening to someone who has been there.

I think a successful person is one who learns from his own experiences. As well as from the experiences of others. If we rely only on our own mistakes, it may take us a long time to achieve success, while advice from experienced people can show us a better way.
For example, if someone wants to start a new business, he should first consult with people who are already successful in this field.

By listening to them, he can avoid many mistakes. But at the same time he has to take practical steps himself because real confidence and skills come from experience.
Similarly, a student can learn a lot under the guidance of a teacher, but he cannot succeed if he does not work hard and practice on his own. Therefore, according to me, the best way is for a person to listen carefully to others, benefit from their experiences, and then step into practical life and gain his own experiences. This balance makes a person more successful, intelligent and confident.
