in Steem4Nigeria7 days ago

Hello everyone here, I am happy to always share my day with you. This time, it's about how my Sunday went. The things I did, the time spent on them, and how I managed myself with my little boy on my side as my wife is still on her postnatal rest with the newborn baby.

Let's break the engagements into the normal three (3) phases to cover what was done in the morning, afternoon, and evening with respect to time discipline, as a tool for the success story of the day. Before the details, let me give you the highlights of every record of my activities for the day.

HIGHLIGHTS OF MY DAY

Breakfast/preparing for church service
Going to church and the worship
Received visitors
Dumping Refuse
Went to Supermarket for shopping
Studio recording at night

MORNING

Waking up every morning to the responsibility that I can only be relieved when my wife is fully recovered from her delivery. The postnatal experiences are my share in all thoughts other than assumptions.

On this particular day that I was to be in Idu, in Uruan Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State before 9am for a service at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Idu, Mary Slessory Parish, I slept and woke up later than 5am. The previous night, my son and I forced ourselves to endure the night with almost an empty stomach that the snacks we had could not sustain.

Cooking in Early in the Morning

Knowing that the time for the service may drag until the afternoon, I jumped from my bed to the kitchen to prepare rice about 6:23am. While I was running around, my boy who was awake came to the kitchen to keep me company. Both of us are the owners of the house, like I said until mother returns.

Time was already coming closer. However, I focused on cooking. Afterward, I fed my son and bathed him. It's 7:35am. I was looking for clothes to wear him when I had not yet taken my bath. Time discipline played in because I must meet up. I began to do one thing at a time instead of touching and leaving for another and repeatedly checking on the wall clock.

His clothes were either rumbling or dirty. My wife knows how to arrange him for any occasion. Most of the times I dressed him based on my wife's suggestion. However, I am more familiar with his school uniform than any other. After changing up to 3 of his clothes, I got the one I found good for service, and here we go!

It was 8:15am. already. I hurriedly entered the bathroom, and in a few minutes, I was ready to go. Putting everything together, my son and I were ready, not around 8:32am. waiting for the bus on the Idu Uruan axis. We spent another 10 to 15 minutes on the way.

Something that I will never forget in my life occurred while we were going. A lady who entered before us stopped along the road. From the money she gave the driver, there was no 100 naira change. The driver asked her if she had 1000 naira to give her 900 naira, and she said yes! “But the 1000 naira is for my offering. I can't touch”

At this point, I was down. I told her, "I don't know what you believe or who your pastor is." God doesn't ask you to discomfort others, thinking that you are serving God. She refused to give the driver the 1000 and have her complete change. The driver zoomed off after we had delayed for about 3 minutes, which was counting out the time I had left to get to the church before 9 am.

The Worship Service at Idu Uruan

I met the church during the Sunday school class, and we began the service at about 9:10 am. The atmosphere of the worship was divine. My attention was drawn to the exceptional drummer, and behold, it was a female drummer giving the worship a spark. Women are doing well in every aspect of life. No religion, no philosophy, or psychology lenses should downgrade women, God created them with purpose and potential and not only for marriage rites and all of that.

The service was dismissed at 11:20am. I spent a little time with them and fed my son with the extra food in the pack I carried. After a few exchanges of pleasantries, I left.

Coming back from Church

AFTERNOON

I returned home from Idu in the afternoon, while another preacher was in our church at Use Offot Congregation for the Uyo Presbytery's exchange of pulpit. At 1 p.m., I was finally resting with my boy after eating the remaining rice I cooked in the morning.

I had some visitors

With my Visitors
who came to see my wife after delivery, but they met only my son and I as my wife is not currently in the house. Someone with experience is taking care of her and the baby. We only visit. Notwithstanding, we all sat together and thanked God for the newborn and safe delivery. Members of YOWICAN, Akwa Ibom State Chapter were there too.

EVENING

Later that evening, when our visitors had gone, I needed to empty the dustbin. There was no one in the house my boy could stay with, I put him in front while he insisted on carrying something, fortunately I found a used carton and put it on his head, here we go.

Going to Dumping Station and Shopping with my Son

Returning from the dumping station, my wife called for me to buy something for her, and entered a supermarket at about 6:57pm. My plans for the evening were to go to the studio as I had booked. But family comes first. After I settled with what my wife requested, I went straight to the studio. Although my son didn't allow my free flow, I was able to succeed.

At Studio for Recording Jingle

I planned the day to accommodate all I had to do and recorded success in spite of the many loads on me. Life works and walks with time. There is no limit to what we can achieve if we plan and have time discipline. This begins from the time you wake up and set time for the things you have to do. When I plan my day, I must include updating my @steemit blog, except I have a battery problem or no electricity.
