Highlight Of The 2025 Nigerian National Steemit Meetup
The 2025 Nigerian Steemit Meetup was a success! It was vibrant and memorable to gather together after a year long, the Meetup brought Steemians from 3 different States together; which are Bayelsa, Abia, Akwa Ibom State and even some in the Diaspora. We learned, collaborate network and celebrate the growth of Nigerian community. The event started with the introduction of different steemians both old and new, this give everyone the opportunity to share their journeys on the platform, to share their interests, and contributions. The opening segment helped us to create a welcoming environment as everyone got to know themselves.
The event was officially set with a welcome speech by @xkool24 who appreciated the effort of all the attendees. He emphasized on the importance of unity, consistency, and creativity on the platform. The welcome address also highlighted the purpose of the Meetup which was to strengthen community bonds, improving skills and strategizing better growth in the coming years.
One of the biggest highlights of the Event was handled by @ngoenyi, the keynote address was on the Growth of Nigeria Steemians in Steem Blockchain. She highlighted the challenges and benefits, she explored how we evolved over the years, our resilience and the role community support played. She addressed challenges like inconsistent engagement, the need for quality-content awareness and the need for developers from Nigeria. Not that we don't have them, we just need to reactivate them and onboard some. In fact one attended the Meetup, and was given opportunity to address, she builds apps powered by AI and expert in Python coding, and programming. she promised to teach us once a week, @kinkyamiee oh it's good to see that she even began her first lesson in programming I hope many Nigerians will seize the opportunity.
On the positive side Ngoenyi shared the benefits Steemit offers, which includes financial empowerment, skill development, global networking and digital visibility. This was inspiring and eye-opening to most attendees.
Next Was The Workshop And Hand -On Training Session, this session was designed to equip attendees with practical knowledge.
- I (@goodybest) handled Blogging Skills and I focused on how users can write well structured posts, storytelling, creative writing, formatting, and how to create an engaging content that will attracts readers and curators.
Picture/Video Editing, was facilitated by @bossj23, he taught attendees how to enhance their visual content using simple editing tools.
*Use Of Steem Tools was handled by @sahmie, he gave an insight into tools like Steemworld, Steemitwallet, and other utilities that make Steemit navigation easier.
- Lastly, Onboarding of Newbies, Was delivered by @okere-blessing, she educated attendees on how to properly guide and mentor newbies in order to ensure they've found their feet on the platform.
The Meetup feature exciting games segment, coordinated by @bossj23. Steemit once said game was played, participants were responding with some important rules on the platform, both the valid and invalid ones. Hahaha, it was such a delight. Other was played too, the singing competition which was well pleasing to the audience, they brought out lots of talent, laughter, and cheers. All these makes the event lively and memorable
Then Ngoenyi discussed a very important session of the program which was networking and partnership. She mentioned ways to increase collaboration which include supporting users through community accounts, and encouraging curators to also uplifting members of our communities. Everyone were agreed on a plan to promote consistent high value posts and the And some agreed to introduce weekly educational content for all to learn from.
After the formal sessions, was photography sessions. Please enjoy the views:

The appreciation message from @eveetim acknowledged the organizers of the Meetup, speakers, volunteers and all the participants who in one way or the other contributed to the success of the Meetup.
The event looked forward with the plans for 2026 National Meetup, who was once again led by Xkool24 who called for early preparations, sponsorship and broader participation across Nigeria.
The gathering come to an end with a closing remarks, and of course Dance Dance Dance, yes we danced our stress away, it was so joyful and fun. I can't wait for 2026! Bye for now.

The meetup brought up so many memories and the benefits of meeting like this cannot be overlooked, if not some financial stuff I would have suggested we host it once in a while not only yearly.
