Our 2Nd National Meetup Recorded A Huge Success!

It is no longer news that we the Nigerian Steemians successfully held our 2nd National meetup on the 29th of November 2025 despite all the struggles of low cash and we recorded great successes. I want to congratulate us all for being both the sponsors and the executors. It was amazing 😍! Planning an even of that magnitude seemed impossible and considering that most people didn't respond to the support we requested for made it even more daunting. But in all, we were able to still hold the meet up.

On that said day, very early in the morning, Xkool24 and I sat down and drafted the program of event. I made a meaningful contributions in terms of the what should be included and I was able to come up with the parts that I handled as well as others that were assigned to others.

I looked at handling the event differently compared to what we do have previously. This time, we had a keynote address that served as a topic for the meetup up. I thoughtful brought out a unique topic that effected us as Nigerians. Well, I researched that topic and found one that is soothes us and the topic was

The growth of Nigerian steemians in Steemit Blockchain- the challenges and benefits

In delivering this address, I was able to trace the beginning of the Steemit Blockchain to 2016 and Africans being the most crypto adopting Nations didn't hesitate to join the ecosystem and has produced large and energetic community of steemians. Our presence in this Steemit ecosystem has shaped the platform in what it is today while we have also benefited immensely bothered financially and knowledge wise from the platform..

I was able to point out the things that are mostly attracting Nigerian Steemians to Steemit and they are

1. Nigerian youths are opportunity takers. They love explorations and as such, when it comes to adopting this Blockchain based social media platform, they didn't hesitate.

2. We are driven by the economic motivation that we receive from the platform which is also a motivation to most users from other parts of the world

3. Strong community culture is one of our trademark. Yes, we love the togetherness and we have been able to create that strong community or bonds that bind us together

4. The easy entry is another thing that drive us. Unlike any other freelance platforms with rigorous means of entry, Steemit is easy to join and so we are attracted to it.

We have also recorded gains as a result of being on the Blockchain and they are as listed below

✓ Networking and collaboration
✓ increased Blockchain awareness

We have also faced done challenges which are as follows

• Unstable internet and high cost of data
• Volatility/ unstable crypto prices
  *Limited access to crypto exchanges
• Spam,, plagiarism and low quality publications
• Competition and reward inequality
• Lack of training resources

If we are able to overcome all the above listed challenges, then, we will be able to measure up to the required standard.. we are known for being resilience and we are thriving despite all the aforementioned challenges. We are hopeful that we can still measure up regardless.

The event began with an opening or welcome speech from @xkool24 after introduction of all steemians present, , followed by the keynote address as delivered by me, then it was time for workshops and hands on sessions where @goodybest told us about blogging skills, @bossj23 demonstrated how to take quality pictures, @okere-blessing helped us to know how to inboard new members and the steps they need to follow to grow.

Then it was time for games as handled by bossj23. It was an interesting part as we were all thrilled at the type of games that were played. Some persons won prizes as a result.

It was then time for me to talk about networking and partnership where I sought for ways that we can try to assist each other with support if we have the means and ways we can get the needed training to master some skills like programming and others. It was during this session that I got to know that @kinkyamiee can assist with the training. I invited her to the stage where and asked her how she can be of help to is. There she promised to start a tutorial sessions , at least once a week where she will take her ti.e to train us on what we need to know about programming. I am glad to inform you all that she has already posted her first training on her blog. Following up with the training can really be beneficial to us. I am grateful to her.

It was time for refreshments. Guess who prepared the delicious meal we entertained ourselves with? It was our own Goodybest. She singlehandedly took it upon herself to prepare our meals for the day and she delivered. We truly enjoyed the meal.

Next was dance, dance, danced to climax the event. It was in deed a memorable one. @eveetim was the one that said words of appreciation to us and @sahmie acted as our secretary, updating the group with the program from the start to the finish so that those who were unable to meet in person with us could still get the highlights. We also have those who joined via a video call . It was amazing how it all went.

The truth is that, since we were able to successfully host this year's National meetup, then it will be possible to host the ones to come.
