Week 4: “Global Dessert!”

Welcome to Week 4!

This one is sweet and exciting and I know you would love it. It's all about dessert, your mission is to create or remake a dessert using simple local ingredients, but with inspiration from around the world.

You can use bananas, coconut, garri, milk, honey, just anything cheap and easy. Turn them into something that looks global but still tastes like home.

This week is all about:

✨ Local ingredients with international vibes

So let your sweet side glow!

I decided to make fruit and milk parfait using just few ingredients available for me.

• Bananas
• Watermelon
• Peanuts
• Milk

France is the country that made parfait popular around the world, and the word “parfait” itself is French, meaning “perfect.” Originally, French parfait was a frozen dessert made with just cream, sugar, and eggs. But over time, other countries, especially the United States, adapted it into the layered yogurt and fruit style we enjoy today.

So my fruit and milk parfait is already standing tall like a dessert that travelled from French kitchens to become a global parfait.

Honestly, the inspiration came from wanting something simple, refreshing, and naturally sweet without doing too much work in the kitchen. I also wanted a snack that felt light but crunchy, so I paired them with milk for smoothness and peanuts for a little crunch.

It just felt like a way to enjoy everyday fruits in a fun style that looks beautiful and tastes even better from the regular.

You don't need to buy something new, just make use of what is available for you and let the creativity flow!
