“If I Rule...and If I Love”
If you were given the opportunity to rule your country, what are the top three changes you would make to improve people’s lives?
- Social Amenities
- Quality Education
- Implementation of securities on life and properties
To be a ruler is not easy, it require a lot of task, thinking, and physical work to prove your ability to rule. If given an opportunity, I would rule as if my life depends on it. It wouldn't be fair to live large as my people are dying.
• Providing social amenities like; water, good roads, electricity etc.. are the duties of a ruler to make sure the people are ok. These amenities would help life function well, businesses keep growing and life full of joy because where there is darkness, there is downfall.
• With quality education as a leader, I am building forces, armies giants for tomorrow. I am raising great armies that would lead others tomorrow. Education bring light to a community or society and by so doing, I create an avenue for a better life.
• Securing the life and properties of my people should be my priority. It should be in place because a place that is secured is a place that prospers. Imagine a place where insecurity is the order of the day, we won't have tourist visiting, investors will not want to come and invest with us, even the people will e too scared to go about their daily lives. But with a good security, they are kept safe.
What is one major issue affecting your country today, and how would your leadership approach solve it effectively?
The major issue affecting my country today is “Insecurity.” It has become a thing of the day and night. People no longer move safely during the day or night. We fear for unknown gun men, bandit, kidnappers, and all of it. Nigeria bleeds every single day, not just lives but property also.
With my leadership approach, I would set up well trained forces who would be on the look out and not on the major roads stealing from people and embarrassing innocent young people.
If it means we have to call for help from other nation, then I will because it will demand some strong and well to do forces to help strengthen the security aspect of my nation. These men should always be embarking on training often to make sure they handle their task effectively.
I will have to provide all needed equipments to make sure they don't lack anything. When these raiders hear of such tight security that operates in my country, they wouldn't dare to come.
As a wife or husband, what values and actions would you bring into your marriage to build a peaceful and supportive home?
• Respect
• Communication
• Tolerance
• Companionship
• Praying together
It might seem simple but I tell you, it is not as simple as seen. It takes a lot to maintain marriage and last in it. God of course has to be the covering.
• Respect to your partner does not make me less a man, it only builds me up as s man. I don't need to bow down to worship my wife before it will mean respect no, there are ways to show your partner respect without even feeling anything.
Doing house chores alongside my wife is a way to show respect and let her value me.
Agreeing with her in sensible matters is a way to show respect.
Using the 5 magic words when necessary are ways to show respect.
• Communication is key in any marriage. When you don't have it, you are probably living as flat mates and not husband and wife. Share ideas, solve problems, create solutions, and know each others boundaries. All these are achievable through communication.
• Tolerance must be seen in marriage. It helps build stronger union. You don't have to tolerate shit before you become a good husband, no. You can endure certain things you feel are not relevant.
• Companionship is an amazing platform for marriage to grow. Imagine when you prefer an outsider to share your problems with than your wife or husband. Companionship should be built even before marriage, it helps strengthen it in marriage.
• It is asid that families who pray together, stays together and that it the truth. Prayer unites and bonds. So praying together would do more good than harm.
How do you think good leadership at home (as a spouse) can influence better leadership in society?
My people would say that, “you can only dress well from home before going out”. You can't be caught dressing on the street or in the market or church. For me to be a good leader in the society, I must have laid standards of a good leader at home to be able to handle a large number of people.
If I fail as a father, than that makes me a failure because I cannot handle a society. Who you are will always show in your words or actions.
